Yesterday I went ahead and turned 2:48PM into a community blog which is a blog in which anyone can create an account and publish articles. I’ve simplified the process of signing up and posting as much as I can to help make it easy for people who’ve never blogged before. The blog isn’t without some rules though and every post that gets published passes through me first before appearing on the blog. The reason for that has to do more with quality control and not censorship.

But Mark – I want to hear YOUR thoughts. Not the random ramblings of sundry others. That’s what Facebook is for!! Is there room to accomodate “the C sides” for the community stuff…?

Hmm this could be interesting, and since I assume your going to be screening the blog posts we can be sure it wont be filled with random nonsense, well done Mark.
@ BAJS – good point. I was thinking the A-sides would get filled with “cute kitten” type videos and similar awful stuff, not Marks more interesting viewpoint… Always good to see things evolve, so I’ll wait, watch and see how it goes!

Says forget about posting if your going to post youtube video’s but so far all I see is youtube.
Never the less, this is a great idea! Those people that always wanted to blog every now and then without dedicating a full blog can finally do so. With quality control.

Great idea. But as far as people promoting events goes, I think this is going to be your challenge:
Naturally, you may get flooded with blog requests, both articles and event promotions. Event promotions don’t wait, so I think devising a way where event promotions don’t have to wait in line with articles will streamline the process even more.
This way we won’t be missing the events because their promotional article was waiting in line to be checked for quality.
I like the concept of a community blog, which is why I’m pointing out a possible error. But in the end your the blogboss, so you probably thought of this before I did ^^

Everything has to wait in line. Everything gets moderated the same day so that isn’t a problem.
