A Quick Survey

Some of you might have noticed a small pop up window appearing in the background when visiting my site asking you if you would like to be surveyed. The reason for that is I am trying to get a better idea on who actually visits my site so I can better cater my content. Please take a minute or two to answer the questions it would help me out a lot.

thanks

Update: I’ve disabled the survey for a number of reasons
1) For some reason the survey showed up only for some people and not all
2) I don’t have a direct link to the survey to share
3) I don’t have control over the questions in the survey.

Basically the survey was asking questions like who does the grocery shopping in the house which I don’t care to know the answer to and don’t see how it could be helpful to me. So instead I will be creating my own custom survey instead and once I have it setup will share it with everyone.

Thanks again

In other words, its for Mark to better understand the demographic and segment information on his visitors so he can pass it on to advertisers to make more money off you guys πŸ™‚

I just took the survey again and honestly half the questions they ask is unimportant to me and there are a lot more questions I would prefer to ask. Am going to disable this survey and set up my own custom one instead of using this generic one.

yrome: actually if you notice all my banner spots are full and so survey information really won’t effect me from an advertisers stance. I would say in the past 5 years I’ve only been asked about my demographic once.

I was hoping this survey would provide me with feedback on where you want to see this site go and what you like and don’t like about it. But it seems the only way I can get that information is with a customized survey which I need to figure out how to do.

Burhan: Forum is not accessible at all. The fact that you need to sign up would turn users away. Plus you can’t have a survey in the forum, it needs to be controlled, question with options, question with options..

Mathai: No i haven’t but will give it a shot.

thanks for the survey monkey link guys. I set up a pro account and i am creating a survey. It’s pretty tough trying to come up with as few questions as possible but at the same time try to get as much info as i can.

Hi Mark,

How is it going?

We already discussed about the importance of this questionnaire

Answering your questions:

1) For some reason the survey showed up only for some people and not all.

(This is because it is random sample, and we are not asking everyone, because we want a sample out of the Kuwait internet users population. This is how research is done…) After all, we will not interview all your readers. If we did so, you will blame us as well. MA FE MAHRAB MENAK πŸ™‚

2) I don’t have a direct link to the survey to share..

(Of course you will not have a direct link to the survey and the questionnaires, and the results… This is a syndicated data, where it will be published in all markets later on. So we will share the outcome with all soon. But we cannot give direct link to anyone…

3) I don’t have control over the questions in the survey.

(Again it is a syndicated data, and not customizes as per the need of each website.)

Finally, I already explained to you many times, the benefits of our study, and it is not only to book a space at your blog!!!!

Give me any website name or a research company that can profile your readers… NO ONE EXCEPT Ipsos.

Good Luck
