The 248AM Awards

248amawards

Some minor tidbits before I proceed with the awards. Firstly you’ll notice I changed the name of the awards. The reason for that is I realized we don’t actually have a proper awards ceremony in Kuwait so I figured I should take this a bit more seriously since it could be a great opportunity for something bigger. I don’t find the compliment “It doesn’t feel like Kuwait” offensive, I find it real and most importantly humorous which is what I loved about it in the first place.

The second change that is taking place is the fact at the end of every winners post, you will now have a chance to vote for your favorite place. I will gather up all the answers and once all this is done I will share the “people’s choice” winners. At the very least we’ll have an idea of what everyones favorite place is. So without further delay we are going to start off with the Best Coffee Shop award today.

It is offensive only when it comes from people who don’t do much to help change Kuwait, especially when they laugh at it.

Thankfully though the people who i know that use it either are in the arts or have businesses and are contributing to help better Kuwait and provide people with activities.

In the long run this may change this outlook on Kuwait, because Kuwait does have beautiful things and activities to do, all you have to do is look for them (camping on failika island and waking up at dawn to dolphins jumping out of the water all across the horizon)”Chinna Mo ilKuwait” right? but it is.

Now that all aside the best coffee place may be juan valdez?

Well, I heard it few times here it in the radio “Chenna mo bel Kuwait” which refers to “As If you are not in Kuwait”… I was first surprised because the statement could be misunderstood as offensive…

It is offensive. Shame that there are people saying this statement less than one week after the terror attack. Some people are truly insensitive.
