Would you listen to a 248AM Podcast?

podcast

I should have asked this in the survey I recently held but completely forgot to. Would you guys be interested in a podcast where maybe once a week I just sit and have a discussion with different interesting people? It would be very Joe Rogan-esque but definitely not as long.

That would be my friend Nima, he’s the funny one while I’ll be like joe rogan which basically means I’ll be stating incorrect facts all the time and then have Jamie google it for me.

You’re famous mark and I’m sure you can get a lot of interesting people to come on your show. As well as branch out like u did with the blog and let the authors also have shows. My advice to you is start with one seasons. 12 episodes over the course of 3 or 4 months. See what happens.

Yes if its short or to the point, maybe weekly format. forexample I love gaming and there is alot of gaming podcasts out there but they mostly run for 2 hrs and I barely have time to game myself. So I prefer to just play than listen to people talking about games. The shorter it is the more likely I would listen to it. Forexample when I see a 1 hr youtube video, I basically skip it.

You could host it on:
1. Libsyn
2. Soundcould
3. Your own server

And make the links available for download (RSS / website etc.).

You could also release it on Itunes – not sure about the process for doing that though

out of curiosity why would use sound cloud and not a podcast app? There a bunch of advantages to using a podcast app like the fact it allows you to stop and continue from where you left off at any time, it would automatically download the latests episodes plus it gives you the ability to forward or rewind 30 seconds with a click of a button?

Do it. And have me come in and host a countdown of my favorite tunes at the moment 😜😘 I also have a super sexy voice so peeps will dig my episode. Just make sure you keep it in your pants when we’re talking 😹😜😘

Also, I’d totally recommend those elephant dick mics as the mics to use when you record your show. They’re pricey but phenomenal. And who doesn’t like speaking into an elephant dick anyways?

I’m going to be using the Zoom H4n with two Audio-Technica ATR2100’s. I listened to some samples and they seem great for the amount. Plus with this setup I can basically be portable.

You have a great blog with many viewers and I find it great how we benefit from you.

However, why would you use profanity words?

Famous websites never use such words.

Thank you for your consideration,

I think the more accurate question is the one in the title: “Would you listen to a 248AM Podcast?” and not “interested.” For example, I find the idea “interesting”, but would I actually sit and listen to it? The answer is “probably not”, so my answer is yes and no.

The only thing I “listen to” is music. I don’t particularly enjoy listening to people talk on audio media. It’s just noise to me, no matter what the topic is. For verbal output, I prefer reading. Visual media, on the other hand, might be more appealing to watch, especially if there are interesting visual elements instead of just talking heads. So, you might want to consider some sort of a video log, although it will probably take more time and effort.

Not intersted in video, i dont think people have the time to spare an hour sitting in front of a computer watching people talk. Podcast you can listen to anywhere with the majority listening to it in their cars on their way to work or home.

Some podcasters make videos of the recording and upload it on YouTube, along with the audio.

So if for some reason someone wants to watch you sitting and chatting with someone, they could watch the YouTube video.

They are normally no-frill. Just a single camera recording the conversation.

Then there are some which have the audio only with a still cover art through out the video.

The options are many. Just decide on a small list of things that you do want to do with podcast and then stuff can be added later πŸ˜€

I actually watched Marc Maron live along with Joe Rogan and a surprise appearance by Dave Chappele at The Comedy Store on sunset boulevard last month!

Podcasts are typically long because you need something besides music to listen to in the car on your hour long drive to work

One of my podcasts releases 2 episodes a week and they’re typically 2-3 hours

It really makes super dull tasks like being stuck in traffic slightly less dull

I’ve always wanted to host or be on some sort of live pod cast with people adding questions through twitter etc. Or maybe questions from the night before.

It’d depend on what you shoot to do. If you choose to interview people who are interesting at have it like a 15 minutes conversation etc it would be something I’d listen to.
