So yesterday was the first day of the curfew and it actually wasn’t bad at all. I live in a commercial area of Salmiya so it’s always busy with people out and about and cars always backed up on my street. It’s generally fairly noisy but not last night. Last night my neighborhood was very quiet which made me realize, this is probably how it feels like living in a normal residential area. I’ve not really experienced that since I’ve lived on the exact same busy street all my life so it was a nice change.
The best part of the evening was getting videos on Whatsapp of cops pulling people over who were out past the curfew. I took a bunch of those videos and clipped them all together so you can check them out above. I also added a funny one at the end.
Another thing I enjoyed doing was watching videos people were taking of the empty streets from their balcony. It would have been cool if we had live street webcams but since we don’t you could use the “Snap Map” feature in Snapchat instead. A few people also flew their drones yesterday to capture video of this never before seen situation like the one below.

Overall not bad for Day 1, now just 21 days to go.

Last two idiots were caught today
really? source?
It was sent via Whatsapp. They figured their location from the lamp post.
Hahaha smart
Honestly, they could just say they recorded the video 2 days ago.. 🤷♂️ or after 4AM, since sunrise is at around 5:45..
Last night reminded me of a nice quiet, summer night out in a western country.. in some sort of field or next to a lake. It was perfectly quiet, nearly surreal. You never get this sort of tranquility in Kuwait.. I’m kind of enjoying the curfew, Its not like I go out anyway. And imagine how much we’re saving the planet just with this alone!
Am I the only one who truly believe this will be over in less than 21 days? We are getting fewer cases so yay! Please give me hope someone. 😭
I’m amused by the music he used for the drone video. Very epic.
I’ve always been the first to call out Kuwait on all the negatives and BS that goes on, but the entire handling of this situation is commendable.
They seem to be taking all right steps. The government appears to be committed to bringing the situation under control and the people are cooperating as well.
You know why? Because the national assembly is not interfering. That’s why everyone in here demands the complete shut down of it and leave the country affairs to the government. I hope this is a wake up call for whoever is running things around and know that Kuwait can actually be up there without the constant hindrance of the assembly..
peho said 21 days left? they said the curfew started but they didnt say for 22days, they said until further notice
They said in the press conference that the holiday has been extended to April 12 and curfew starts the next day
Yes but curfew is not related to that extended holiday, they said curfew will start from like now until further noticd
That’s not how I understood it
you understood it wrong, better edit so people don’t think it’s for 21 days

I was basing it off this

But 21 days to go for the public holiday so if they end the curfew before that’s great
Anyone have recommendations for where I can get plastic model kits of ships and fighter jets here. Preferably having delivery, don’t mind picking it up too though.
