That’s true but in this context we are talking about violence generally from men towards women. Woman can also be violent towards their maids so this wouldn’t entirely cover it.

understand that violence against women is a result of living in a patriarchal society that views women as inferior and thus easy targets for men’s rage. the fact that an additional result of such a society, that glorifies men and masculinity, is the narrowing of the definition of masculinity, thus making it more difficult for men who are victims of domestic abuse to come out about it, is unfortunate but it is a concept historically created by men and sustained to this day by men. while this is a big issue, violence against women is a big issue as well and should be given its own space to be discussed, expressed, and hopefully stopped especially considering the lack of awareness and vocality about the subject. so please stop invading women’s spaces with your flagrant comment about saving men when women need much more help. this isn’t about men. for once this isn’t about you. This is about women.

What’s so special about women? what’s so special about women is that they are assigned genders at birth and expected to comply with society’s expectations of that gender, which are often oppressive and humiliating (ex. believing in the necessity to obey men because they have some supposed ‘magical’ upper hand). what’s so special about women is that they are subjected to violence for daring to form an opinion, for wanting to change the status quo, for trying to offer better options for future generations of women, for daring to speak about their personal experiences, for supporting other women, for demanding equality, for demanding human rights, and for being assigned a gender based on a sex they couldn’t help. so, why don’t you jump out of your ignorant little bubble and listen to what these women have to say?!

clearly you have some inferiority complex. Your notions of gender role are about 50 years out of place. You, as a woman, are spouting your opinion here, are wanting to change the status quo, and trying to offer better options for future generations of women etc etc. Are there men outside your house wanting to “abuse” you for that? No.
And believe it or not, men are expected to behave in a “masculine” way as well, gender-specific roles go both ways. You don’t see men running seminars and complaining all the time. Also, believe it or not, men are abused domestically as well; domestic violence is NOT limited to male on female violence. Unfortunately, because of the GENDER ROLE men were assigned at birth, it’s considered shameful to admit being abused by your wife/partner.

In summary, we as humans have a problem, and there’s nothing special about women- stop making it a man-vs-woman issue.

LOL ok found the “other” fajer. I’m the fajer from the “early bird” post. And on this subject, I agree with both of you. Considering I believe in equality between men and women, I also believe that the “men’s case” should be represented as well. But separately because it involves different aspects. For example, violence against women, and also empowering men to not feel shame and come forward when they’re violated, violence against maids, scrutiny against gay people, animal rights. All important, but different subjects. But by all
means, men are being sexually harassed by female bosses, raped by other guys in school, beaten in their homes. etc as well.

But defending women, doesn’t negate the issues with men at all. And what’s special about woman is that most of women are weaker than the men attacking them. Its an issue in its own. Empowering women is an issue and encouraging men to come forward is another.
