There are a bunch of cool things to do this weekend but my personal picks are The Comedy Night and rooftop movie for Thursday, The Jam show on Friday and the Korean Thanksgiving on Saturday. Books exhibition at KIF Mishref at halls 5, 6 and 7. Mostly Arabic but English as well, and including a separate hall for just kids (books and toys).
The wrestler movie (as I saw from the trailer) in this nice weather seem to be something interesting to be done today !
I’ve never been to a rooftop movie night and looking forward. Thanks as always Mark for your unique posts.
Wrestler is the same director as Black Swan and felt really similar to me. I thought it was better though, it’s less about the horror aspects and more the insanity of someone pursuing something.
“The Wrestler” is a great movie. I agree between “The Wrestler” and “Black Swan” for me it’s “The Wrestler”.
If you want a similar plot check out the Korean film “Crying Fist”.

I saw the movie and I think it’s very graphic. I thought it would be similar to the sport drama but it’s a lot more. ! I would not recommend it to be honest.
Really? I would recommend it for someone who liked “The Wrestler”.
I wouldn’t consider it a sports drama. For me it was more of just witnessing the downward spiral of a person, but you wanted him to make a turn for the better.
That’s just my opinion. If you thought “Crying Fist” was graphic, what were you basing that off of? Just curious, this is only meant to be a healthy discussion on movies.
Oh sorry boca my bad. I meant to say I did not like “The Wrestler”. The story might have something nice but I would not recommend it as a whole package. As for “Black Swan” or “Crying Fist” I haven’t watched them.
For sports movies, my taste is more towards styles like “Remember the Titans”, “Jerry Maguire” , “Coach Carter” or “Rocky” type of movies 🙂
Not to mention the numerous other goings on about town,i.e. the underground party circuit rocking the chalets of Messilah and Julia’as well as the strawberry farms of Wafra. Oooh la! la!
Those little Korean kids in the embassy are angels! One of them ran up to me out of nowhere and told me to blow his candle so I did then he started laughing HE WAS THE CUTEST THING EVEEEEEEER!
