Bon Voyage Restaurant

bon

A new restaurant opened up in Salmiya called Bon Voyage that serves airplane food. I personally think this is like the worst idea since plane food generally sucks but if you’re into plane food then I guess you’re in luck. [Link]

I think this is a cute and unique idea, but maybe it might work best in an airport too? Also, I think Mark should review this place, see if the food is any good because their menu items didn’t sound too bad.

I have tried the food and it’s nothing like an airline meal. Infact it is very delicious and yum. The quality of the food is very high. The airline concept is only the packaging wherein the three course meal in delivered in a convenient box. It’s top class food for the price they are charging. I would definitely order from there again. If Mark tries the food, he will surely have a change of opinion. Mark I think u should try it.

You sound like you’re from the restaurant which is fine, just say you are no need to pretend you’re a customer. Also you need to decide if you want to post as Haisam or as Shahna instead of pretending to be two different people.

ummmm no, thats not how it works, it’s a completely different concept. It’s called Plane Food but they don’t serve plane food at the restaurant. The restaurant serves really good food on proper fancy plates and everything looks and is delicious, I know that because I eat there every time I travel through Heathrow. Check the link you posted for pictures and menu.

But they do have a special kit you can order that is meant to be taken with you on the plane, basically an alternative you can take on the plane with you to eat instead of the food they serve you on the flight. Looks like this https://www.instagram.com/p/-GVWO6mi4H/ and it’s not served in their restaurant.

Actually no. Gordon Ramsey’s “Plane Food” is his restaurant in the departures of Heathrow Terminal 5. It’s one of the best eating options there and they do not serve the food in these silly trays. I always grab a bite there before boarding because I prefer to avoid actual airplane food when I can.

From what I have seen in Instagram, Bon voyage is a take out place probably thts y they don’t have their food in fancy plates. Food is the most important factor so we only comment after we try it

just the sight of the plastic cutlery reminds me of that nasty airplane food smell. now i want to throw up. thanks, bon voyage.

Uh airplane food is good these days. I’ve been on at least… 30? Flights this year and would not complain about the food on any of them across Emirates, Kuwait, KLM, Lufthansa. Look up a documentary on this, the field of airplane food has advanced a LOT from when Seinfeld used to ask what the deal was with airplane food (also Seinfeld lives in the US and all the US airlines really do have terrible food)

Tried the food after reading this and I must say , the food isn’t bad . I am someone who hates travelling and the flight food makes me sick , but the food and the concept was great! A complete meal for a price and taste like that is totally worth paying for. The only thing I wasn’t so fond of was the salad’s – (maybe because I am not a salad person).

And a personal note – Judging something just because of the concept is not right. Maybe you should try it 😀

I’m allowed to judge an idea if its good or not, i didn’t say the food sucked, i said the idea sucked and I don’t need to try the food to state that.

Hi,
This restaurant is close to where I live. I was always curious to try the place. Tried some jasmine jalepeno rice with grilled chicken……..both were lousy….the chocolate mousse was burnt…overpriced with amazing packaging though!
Surely my taste buds took a flight .
