La Paella Real

Tried paella today for the first time at a place that was recommended called La Paella Real. It was delicious! Someone needs to open up a Spanish restaurant in Kuwait if there isn’t one already, they’ve got some amazing dishes here…

There used to be Viva Espanole at Thuraya Complex in Salmiya ๐Ÿ™
You can have Tapas at Cuts (which is a combo of Brazilian and Spanish food)… but sadly, we dont have an authentic Spanish restaurants in Kuwait ๐Ÿ™

Why? so they cook it with basmati rice and yellow food coloring and pass it off as paella ? You must try queso de cabra, it an amazing cheese served with onion marmalade. Checkout a restaurant called bazaar.

paella is derived from the Arabic word for leftovers, baqiyah, (ุจู‚ูŠุฉ) because the arabs used to give their leftovers to the poor Spanish

Paella = Baeya which is what they called it long time ago as they mixed every food they have in one dish so they called it Bageya as whats left from food they have i see this dish every year and i always pass it to next year ๐Ÿ˜›

Mark, I respect your opinion, but I really cant chow down on that stuff. Was the shell fish and prawns even de-veined?

On a totally separate issue, does anyone know of a F/O cable damaged in the persian gulf? Just got this news from kems a week ago and its still under repair. Looks like kems is the only one affected by this. I have a 512K link and its just unbelievably slow.

This is happening with hotmail, and I haven’t seen that for a long time :

Paella is originally an Arabic word which is baqeya

when spain was ruled by islamic leader they used to give the spanish prisoners the remained food which is baqeyat el akel

I love Paella….. I don’t know about any Spanish restos here in kuwait but you can find Paella @ Dean & Deluca’s for 8KD (approx) per KG. Haven’t tried it yet though.

I am spanish and have always wondered why there is no Spanish restaurant in Kuwait since they seem to have all other forms of global cuisines. I realize that a) people are scared of most of the Spanish seafood and crustations b) Spaniards use pork in so many things c) tapas without wine is not the same. Bringing a Spanish restaurant to Kuwait would have to involve stealing the cuisine’s very soul…punto.

hello
hopefully you have one spanish restaurant now in ARABELLA.TORERO
YOU CAN HAVE PAELLAS ,TAPAS AND CHURROS.
