Mr. Greek, one of the largest Greek cuisine restaurant chains in North America is opening up this week at the Marina Mall food court.
There used to be a Greek restaurant before on Blajat Street called Zorba which closed down years ago. I’m surprised no one thought of opening up another Greek restaurant until now.

isn’t there anything new in kuwait other than restaurants lol, why doesn’t someone open a sky diving base here or something awesome?
it will fail. we already have falafel and shawarma.
i miss greek mosakka
When will Kuwait stop with the chains and open local establishments.
Greek food is similar to lebanese food but cost more
its becuase of the greek shawrma no one opend its not avalible in kuwait. ( Gyro cone) untill now.
There’s a nice Gyro shop in Kuwait city (just next to the Liberation tower). Forget the name, but it’s a new place and the Gyros are great.
did you mean the doner sandwiches, its Slice then. Too good
Yup. That’s the one.
There isn’t a greek place because Greek food is really similar to cuisines we already have here
Because Greek food is like Lebanese food, except much blander, not as delicious, and is more expensive.
Greek food isn’t like Lebanese food. Have you guys even had Greek food to even compare?
HAHA! Have I ever had Greek food? good one.
I’m guessing you either haven’t had greek food or you haven’t had Lebanese food. Which one is it?
Look, I said Greek food is like Lebanese food, except BLANDER. They have baklava, so do we, they have taouk (which they call souvlaki), and so do we. They have “houmous”. The list goes on forever. How can you argue with me that they aren’t similar? Typical of you to ignorantly defend your posts.
you have houmous at Katsuya doesn’t make Katsuya like Lebanese food. The Thai place down my street has chicken satay which is chicken cutlets on a stick which is basically what taouk is but that doesn’t make it like Lebanese food either. Just do simple image search for “greek cuisine” and one for “lebanese cuisine” and compare.
What kind of an argument is that? If Katsuya has hummus on their menu, then they’ve made a lebanese dish. It doesn’t suddenly become Japanese. There’s no two ways about it.
That’s the argument you’re making.
and just an FYI, the definition of ignorant is “someone lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated”. That would basically make you the ignorant one since you can’t tell the difference between Greek and Lebanese food and not me dude.
You seem to have comprehension issues. I never said Lebanese and Greek food are identical, I said they were similar. How ignorant of you once again.
You literally said “Greek food is like Lebanese food but blander” while my argument is that Greek food is different enough from Lebanese food and if you can’t see that then you’ve probably never had greek food. I never said Greek and Lebanese didn’t have some similarities, they’re both Mediterranean countries end of the day but just because they have some similarities doesn’t make them the same.
Nxt time you go to a Greek restaurant try something new and order dishes you haven’t had before. Resist the houmous and baklava.
Greek food and Turkish food have a lot of overlap though
btw sorry if I came out aggressive. I had just gotten off the phone with my bank and they always seem to piss me off and put me in a bad mood.
Chill man. People here don’t know when to back down when their argument collapses. Hit me up if you need nice big J 😉 to unwind.
Funny that you say this. NBK ruined my day today as well. I wonder how many people moods are ruined by NBK ;/
Sorry Mark but b.f is very convincing.. I even asked a Greek friend on that matter and he said Greek food is very similar to Lebanese.
this is actually has to do with history and geography. Both our countries have been influenced by the ottoman rule, and we are both Mediterranean countries. That makes sense.
ive tried greek cusine at Elia dubai… absolutely amazing… it isn’t anything like Lebanese food or nothing in their menu that was close…. yes they did have halloumi but marinated & tossed on fig sauce (Yummy). the food was amazing.. im hope they have something similar here in kuwait.
Halloumi is greek
cypriot
uuh.. restaurant.. again!
Gyrrroosss
Wouldn’t you just love to go to a VOX 4DX cinema in Kuwait, well as usual; they have no plans to come here. They have plans to install VOX 4DX in Sharjah, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Lebanon. I could site example after example of foreign companies wanting to enter the regional market, yet snub Kuwait. Just thank God for Al-Shaya, because at least he opens stores and restaurants that he opens regionally, although his numbers are better in the UAE due to the successful tourism that Kuwait could use economically. The local economy can only open restaurants or franchises, they cannot overhaul national carriers or build new airports or even build cultural centres and zoos which are large scale projects that this government should build. That is why yet another franchise and it will continue until you refine your foreign business laws and respect this nation by breaking ground on key development projects.
Al-Shaya is imposing a monopoly. Monopoly is a very bad thing. Monopoly is the reasong why VOX 4DX will not come to Kuwait and why we will continue to have crappy internet connection.
“although his numbers are better in the UAE” Ha, cute, who told you that?
In case you don’t know what a VOX 4DX that by the way successfully launched in Dubai during the holiday, The new technology engages all five senses, making audiences feel like they are a part of the movie itself. The seats are fitted with multiple motion simulators, synchronised with the on-screen action.Specially fitted mechanics around the seats make it possible to experience fog, rain, wind and even thunder and lightning. Even various scents are programmed to complete the viewers 4D experience. Doesn’t that sound fun for Kuwait? Not coming.
That sounds terrible, dumb gimmick like 3D to cover up how bad movies are these days
Anyway, I’ve seen it sitting in Marina Mall for months with nothing happening. Who knows when it will actually be opening??? I have been impatiently waiting for Greek food in Kuwait
15th jan
Thanks Mark
Kleftiko and some ouzo to wash it down with.. Yummy!!
I’ve had it it Dubai, its pretty good.
Looking for to spanokopita and a good gyro!
Ya a good gyro… Such a shame that gyro is traditionally made of pork. HARRAM HARRAM lololo… Many of the best Greek dishes are porky pork. One if the reasons that there are not so many Greek restaurants in Q8?
So everybody still has to get the good harram taste on holiday outside the former “pearl of the gulf” :-))
FINALLY!!! been waiting for years for greek – i want tarmasalata!!! :))) yayyyy!
there is no such thing as lebanese food its ( arabic food ).
it all derives from turkish food anyway, i think the only dish thats pure arabic is Kubba & zattar and pure lebanease is tabullah!!! mmmmmmm:)
Lol “arabic food” Look at the food in Lebanon and look at the food in Kuwait and tell me it’s all “arabic food”
+1
Guy…..I had it today. The one in dubai seemed to offer more food……the pita bread should have been warm. I think I could have had at least two beef gyros. And no spanokopita at the time I went. I’m sad.
i was in marina mall and i tried mr.greek for the first time … amazing food, friendly helpful staff, great menu with healthy choices
