Commercial bank seems to be the best..
It looks like ahli bank has a lot more winners but let me tell you, their service is the pits! Every time I had to walk into the bank for one reason or the other I felt like the bank was doing me a favour by allowing me to hold an account there. Needless to say I promptly opened my salary account with Gulf bank and couldn’t be happier.
yeah service is important, its what helped me decide on which bank to go with actually
In terms of total prize Al-Ahli (KD 4 million) is the best, which I never realised before. Also, perhaps it is the best option since the customer base for Al-Ahli may be the lowest (less no. of customers vying for the price).
Ahli United Bank (Al-Hassad Al-Islami) used to be BKME previously. I used to think exactly the same too that the customer base could be low and I have a higher chance of winning. Until one day for some reason I discovered that Winner names in Bahrain and Kuwait were same. So I inquired with thr Bank and found that the WINNER is picked from accounts across the GCC š as they have branches all over the GCC. Unlike Kuwaiti Banks (hopefully) where the prize money is for accounts in Kuwait only. So at Ahli one has a very low chance of winning š
You’re welcome Mark š

until I win the draw, I cannot say which banks has the best draws
The most important elements are
1) Size of the total Payout as a percentage of the total money in the pool
2) The probability of winning a prize
I would choose the smaller banks as the probability of winning is the best and your chance is not like a speck in the ocean
No one will ever publish the probability, but this is really the smartest way to choose where to invest in a draw account product
It is well documented in news papers that the draws are not random.
i don’t know what newspapers u read but they are random, the probability is not mentioned and 100% automated, they don’t pick up from a big box!
Well, if you dig some Arabic speaking Kuwaiti forums, you’ll find some very interesting discussions about the “automated” computer draw. Funny that I recall reading one discussion that correctly predicted winners of future draws… some predicted by nationality, and one predicted by specific names as well.
yeah i think most ppl know that these are mostly scams
Well, cannot argue that, I do have my doubts also
never won anything from Ahli united
though they are always empty in jabriya š
unlike nbk jabriya which is a nightmare
Your chances has nothing to do with the number of clients in these banks. To my knowledge, most of these banks don’t require you to be a customer to enter the draw, you just deposit your money with them to enter the draw. In the past you wouldn’t even need to open an account for that… but i think now they’d open a special account for your draw.
Plus, I don’t see how this is any different from the lottery… other than the fact that you can refund your initial ‘investment’. I like the idea of putting my money somewhere and then pray at the end of every month to win something… at least it gives me hope to dream of easy money! But then again, I feel it is disrespectful to my self to walk into one of those banks and ask to buy such chances!!
ur right, it was a certificate that u buy for an amount, but then it was becoming too obvious of a lottery. the legal escape was having the account number enter the draw, so legally have a saving account
I know several employees of a bank that have won that bank draw, some how I still feel it is rigged
You’re not allowed to enter these bank draws if you’re a bank employee in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
I’ve heard, from a friend that used to work at CBK, that even though the bank says you get a chance for every KD 10/25/50/100 depending on the bank, you aren’t really entered in a draw unless you have a substantial amount in the account, ranging from KD 1000 to KD 3000.
The ratio of expatriates to nationals is 2:1 but then how is it that 99 % of the winners are always nationals ???
+1 .. noticed that too
Because they have more money in the account?
Because expats have 100-1000kd in the accounts.. some rich expat might have 10-20K’s…
naitonals have hundreds of thousands in their accounts…
more money..more chances..
I knew someone who won 160 KD or around that amount from NBK, he also had a ton of money in his account as well so maybe it’s true about people who have a lot of money getting more.
obviously!!!
more the money… more the chances.. more the chances… more the probability of winning.
well, none if you never win š
I opened an account in Gulf Bank and NBK since 9 years and still I haven’t won any š
You have to keep money in it š
JK JK… same here… lol
i am not saying this is what is being done here.
1. any automated (lottery) or whatever this is, can be rigged.
2. even if you make a child pick a draw, the chap reading out the number can say any number he wants.
Regarding your second point… no they cannot read any number they want. Usually in such draws there would be someone present from the ministry of commerce and ministry of interior. the the piece of people would be checked by those people, sign it, then pass it to the company staff to read the name out loud and formally announce it.
if they wish to rig it, they can fill the box with their own tickets to increase the probability of having someone of their own to win.
i really hope it all aint rigged and i do win someday soon.
my hopes are up cos my dad won once with gulf bank ages ago some 400 or 1000 or something š —-fingers crossed
Is the draw open to all the nationalities or only Kuwaiti Nationals.
I was reading one of the comments, and it stated that 99% winners are nationals, I dont know how genuine is that.
Commercial Bank of kuwait
Is the draw open to all the nationalities or only kuwaiti National.

Not many of the nationals keep money in their bank. Their expenses are much higher than expatriates. So, probability of depositing money in such accounts are very less. As some one mentioned, 99% of winners are nationals only. Interestingly, another thing I found out, the names that expatriates win, if you search that names in facebook, you can not find such a person in Kuwait. Agreed that not all of the persons has facebook account. But out of 10 names, one must be having facebook account. So, such expatriate winner is really in Kuwait? How many of you know personally such an expatriate winner?
my roommate won 7000kd from cbk …š
Hi Mark,
Any 2019 update in the above figures???
