Earlier today I got an email from Saveco about their new store that’s opening in Avenues Phase 4, entrance 28. Funny thing is I was actually in Avenues Phase 4 going down the escalator of entrance 28 when I got and read the email. Since I was already there I decided to check out the location and snap some photos.
Not sure why they’re planning to open in Avenues when their main store is located down the street unless they’re planning to close that location down. Since I always park at entrance 28, this location will be a convenient place for me to pop into on my way out of the Avenues, so I’m not going to complain.
Saveco in Avenues is opening this Thursday at noon.

Well there main location is the WORST to try and get to on the weekend so this will be nice. Does it look like a Saveco Express sort of thing? Or a full blown branch?
i think a full blown branch but hard to tell from what i saw since all the windows were closed up. but i would think its a proper branch or else they would have opened up a wholesome foods or a saveco express instead.
Their main location at th3 weekend is a nightmare to park do you think Avenues at the weekend is better
I’m pretty sure they’ll be closing down their main branch on the 4th RR because that place is inconvenient to shop at or even visit to say the least.
While the current location is not the most convenient, the belong to the group of people who hate to go to Avenues for grocery.
you don’t need to enter avenues to access this location. it’s located in the middle floor, between parking lot and avenues. so you could park your car and head to saveco without going through the mall.
This is a great addition to The Avenues, but I hope they won’t have rude security guards like the ones in their Shuwaikh branch. And they better have imported drinks too.
I’ve personally stopped shopping at Saveco a year ago after being a loyal customer since they opened and was going there almost twice a month. The quality of items they’re bringing keep dropping and now they mostly carry the usual stuff you find anywhere. They no longer have unique items imported besides the Tesco which is something i’ve always avoided when shopping at Tesco UK! You can’t even find tissues other than those under Saveco brand, seriously? and the fruits/veggies collection is just so boring stuff and has a very limited organic items.
Best in Town is Sultan Center and Lulu Hypermarket. I was surprised when I visited Lulu in Qurain to see all that huge organic veggies/fruits collection plus all of the discounted items saveco used to carry but not anymore.

Always wondered why theyre called saveco when their products arent even reasonably priced lol..unless it means something else. Lulu is my preferred choice for now.
Just been there today. Its good but they are overpriced. I prefer to get fresh meat from there. They’re never busy and they have Tesco products being from the UK, that’s my main reason for going.
