Because I live in an apartment building that was constructed in the 80s, the central AC is no longer strong enough to cope with the hot weather and so I installed a couple of split units in my place. A couple of evenings ago I noticed that one of the units had ran out of refrigerant gas since it was blowing out uncooled air. So I called up the Xcite support number and connected to their AC service department.
The whole experience was super smooth, I told the guy I needed someone to come over check my AC since it wasn’t working. He asked me what brand my AC was, he then confirmed my address (they have my mobile number on their system) and then told me that they would send someone over the next morning and that the cost to send someone over was KD10, but that amount would be deducted from the repair cost.
Next day I get a call from the repair guy asking if I was home, then two guys come over, check the AC and let me know there was a refrigerant leak. They fix the leak, refill my unit with refrigerant gas and charge me KD15 for the whole thing. In under an hour, they were gone.
This was the second time I had a great experience with their AC service department. I love how quick they are in sending someone over and how smooth the whole process is which is why I wanted to post about them. If you ever run into AC trouble and want to get things fixed asap, I highly recommend you give them a call. Their number is 1803535.

Is this a general service they offer, or do you have to purchase one of their units for it to be available?
i think its a general service they offer thats separate from the main xcite. cuz they don’t even check if i purchased it before or need a receipt or anything.
Would they service faulty central air conditioning as well? Any idea?
No I don’t think so but you call and check
which was the a/c brand? one of their in-house brands?
recently i called them for a service for my General window a/c, they gave me the tel. number of the agent. (i bought the machine from x-cite). well, the agents were not that fast or professional as you have mentioned here… i was without a/c for few days and paid kd.20/- for filling up the gas 😉
it was Wansa, but I’d assume they would service any AC? If not then I finally found a good reason to own a Wansa AC unit…
Wansa is their own brand. (They own it, they’re not just the distributor) I would assume it is the ONLY AC brand they’ll fix. If you bought any other brand, they will ask you to call the official distributor (which I believe is still printed on the back of the huge receipts)
Recently, I contacted Abraaj to fix my water cooler. They had the same situation more or less. They asked what brand it was because they only service “Abraaj”, if it was any other one, they will get the company to call me.
unfortunately my room has big windows and faces the sun so it gets really warm,,,looks like i need some split units
Getting a split A/C does not change the fact that your window still faces the sun and gets pretty warm.
maybe a 3m sun block film could help.
Go to IKEA and get these blackout curtains called MAJGULL. They block out the sun completely and will keep you house/room cool.
Hi Mark.
My experience with wansa has been worst in term of service. Last year the air condition they took one week to show up to repair under warranty. This year again in ramadan they showed after 10 days after eid. And now again I have a cooler of wansa and I gave them for repair before 1 week. Still i am to hear from them. I give call Every day to their customer carr
Wansa is one of the cheapest brands, it is not a high quality manufacturer. You choose Wansa because of its value, it is very cheap Yusuf.
Next time get an LG or a more expensive brand if you want reliable durable service.
