The Ritz-Carlton Kuwait was supposed to be built on the empty plot of land on the Gulf Road next to Safir Hotel around 5 years ago, but the project never ended up getting the green light.
It’s sad really since by the looks of it, the Ritz-Carlton would have been one of the nicer hotels we would have had in Kuwait. [Link]

Maybe the answer is in your next post 🙂
Is that where the old Hilton used to be?
no hilton used to be where safir is. Safir is hilton or at least was an extension to hilton.
I have always wondered why they don’t have presence in Kuwait, this is the first time i see the above info/Pix…any idea why this is the first time someone posted about this?
Ritz Carlton will open a new one in Abu Dhabi on the Al Marayah Island, as if the current one is not enough
In addition to that, they are turning two properties in Ras al-Khaimah to Ritz properties next year.
The one in Jeddah, which was announced it will open by August 2015, is yet to open, i think it will open by February next year.
Yet they still don’t have any presence in Kuwait or Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, even though if you go to Ritz-Carlton in Bahrain, it’s all Saudis and Kuwaitis lol
Mark, do you know who was going to be the owner(s)?
