The headline is taken from an Arab Times article. I had previously read that one person had died because of the celebrations but it seems the actual number is eleven. That’s really terrible… [Link]
Thanks Loza

That’s a war not a celebration. What happen to these people! That’s really sad. Thank God i am out of the country.
And they STILL wont do anything about it.
The headline reads like its the aftermath of a civil war 🙁
Considering the driving in Kuwait, people would have died on the roads anyway even if it wasn’t the National Day holidays.
The numbers speak for themselves… -.-
I’d expect that headline somewhere in late 1990
Do those spray foams conduct electricity?
Next year, I’m thinking of laying a high voltage wire mesh on my windshield.
I really don’t mind them celebrating, but leave my fucking windshield alone!
and many eye casualties at the Eye Hospital
because of the foam and other stuff .
@samurai
Lool samurai! great idea! 😛
but flamethrowers really help get your point across 🙂
i have known many people who were sprayed with hair remover foam, shaving foam and anything frothy as foam cans would run out soon…why cant they just ban foam cans completly?who will object?most are simply fed up with the tfoam spraying trash roaming around.
hala february should be renamed as hell february until this insanity ends!
Damnnnn! Allah esa3id likuwait bs
-N~
@akbar if they ban foam that wont help it will just increase the usage of hair removers, water guns filled wit urine, shaving cream etc. them keeping foam in kuwait is better than making ppl use those filthy stuff inshallah all this chaos stops
I’m glad I stayed indoors 🙂
If this continues to detoriate at the rate I have been seeing since past 7years, the govt. should stop declaring it as a public holidays and let the hooligans stay at school and college and work. Things are no longer acceptable with such nuisance on these two days especially if it caused 11deaths in a single day!
It is not a celebration, it is a big chance to (Bad manners, none educated, seemliness) people to invade and molest boys and girls in streets without any rule. and under the eyes of the police.
If those losers love Kuwait so much they wont trash it, specially with empty FOAM-CANS.
I can not count the number of the Kuwaiti FLAGS that I saw in streets!! where is the nationalism and love??
it is only a chance for losers to dance in streets and show humanity that they have nothing else to show & give beside that to his society.
did I clear that Kuwaiti FLAGS on the floor?!
I stayed Indoor with f*cked-up internet connection.
still can’t play online.
I had a hospital dental appointment on Sunday, went there and they are closed!!!
wtf… 3ayeedy ya Kuwait!
This is beyond insane 11 people died? Thats sad
I dream of the “golden age” our parents talk about … to live amongst classy people : classy in their words, music, art, wardrobe and the list goes on and on …
I had my windshield cracked when some Kuwaitis started throwing empty foam cans at my car.
I am not surprised about the 11 people dying. Kuwaitis seem to be in a rush to get themselves killed with their bad driving habits. I am surprised about the 13,000+ citations. I have rarely seen the police here do much of anything which is probably why things have gotten so bad.
its more like national harrasment day instead…!!!
1 kid and 1 police man died because of foaming and celebration, while the other died because of normal car crashes that happen in kuwait
Usually I wasn’t going to gulf road or those mass areas in feb 25-26. and this year specificly, I couldn’t even get near salmiya or the seaside at all, since my dad is really sick and im spending most of my time with him rather than work. so my car remained clean, until I went to Shuwaikh TSC the night of 26, around 12 midnight, and when I came back, I found my car in a totally shitty situation .. showered in foam !!!!
why? I have no idea !
Needs organisation, if the government puts on some great stuff for the kids, cordones it off and checks for sprays etc. Then the kids will not roam the streets, endangering themselves and others leaving a huge clean up job. It was chaos out there!
What is wrong with those people ??
Thank god I was busy at the office, I usually have a very cool head but if someone chucked something at my car I would have gotten out and did something I would regret later.
I really don’t get what was the point of all the cops, its not like they were stopping any of it.
A lot of people also said that the government is to blame because there is nothing else for kids to do. No national day parades, no concerts, fireworks, etc. I have seen national day celebrations in a few countries, only in Kuwait do they foam people :/
Anywhere else, you’d see special programs for the history of the country, military parades, etc.
I just saw 2 Indians getting sprayed on the head with foam!
HOW PROUD THE KUWAITI NATION MUST BE, HOW DIGNIFIED THEY MUST FEEL.
is it not time this country woke up.
what is worse is i heard today in the span on 2 months in kuwait 77 people died in road accidents. 77 thats 3 classrooms of kids! from carless driving yet agian kuwait wake up!
Here is an idea to toy with, there should be 500% tax on the foam cans. Of which 200% goes to the bengali cleaners for cleaning the crap on the roads, 200% goes to govt. for civil works and cops welfare and another 100% goes to charity. Each foam can 5K.D.
talk is cheap…someone should do something about it…instead of launching milliona of cupcake companies how about P2BK hold a parade on the 25-26 instead of a show case of food @@
that’s alot!
by the way i keep saying this, but why don’t you do something about the links, they navigate us away from your lovely blog which i don’t like, pleeeeeeease Mark!
Majority of those fines will be removed because they will get their police friend or their family member that works for the police to remove it! Waste of paper too! They need to set up the speed traps in the mornings going to Arifjan! they will make a couple thousand KD in a week with all the speeders in the mornings! I really don’t think the police even work before 6am!
*clap clap* @af
How is spraying strangers with foam fun?? how is this a celebration ? how is this related to Kuwaits national day ? this is bizarre !
Kuwaitis need to learn how to respect other people. It is rude to spray someone you dont know. let alone break their car windows and kill people ! they should definitely ban foams from entering Kuwait during the holiday celebrations and police needs to be all over the place stopping people from using water guns and all the other crap !
I love my country and i would love to celebrate the national day with flags songs and decoration but harming and disturbing others is not the way!
@famajah
what’s wrong with you dude?
it’s not like anyone’s forced to go out on the national day holiday.
it wouldn’t happen in Massachusetts though 🙂
