A Greener Kuwait

A reader left the news article below as a comment but didn’t mention the source:

Municipal authority calls for halt of bulldozing unlicensed planted plots

The Municipal Council recommended on Monday halt of bulldozing plots of lands that have been cultivated without obtaining advance permit from the relevant authorities.
The council, at a regular session headed by the Chairman Zaid Al-Azmi, with unanimous blessing, recommended the halt of the removal of plants and trees at such plots till introduction of amendments into the regulations regarding plantations off private houses.

The council approved the cabinet decision to change the name of the border region from Um-Qaser to Al-Buhaith, and referred a request by the Environment Public Authority (EPA) to name the north of Boubyan island as “the reserve of Mubarak Al-Kabeer” — in reference to the late Amir, to a panel tasked with choosing names for public sites and regions.

The members of the council pondered various other procedural and bureaucratic matters related to maintenance of roads and water sewage systems.

If this is true then it’s great news.

I think what the government needs to focus on is the maintenance of garbage left behind by campers and have campsites regulated through taxation in order to fund the cleanup following the season. i just thought that my opinion might interest you in some way.

This should have been thought over carefully from day one. A committee should have been put together to approve certain parameters as to what should be demolished and what should be left behind. I would like to see how they will go about all of this. Let’s pray that it won’t take a year or two and instead reach a solution soon.

And people say Kuwait is not moving forward.

This is going to be a great impact to the society as a whole.

Read Between the Lines…. !

You Know That Mr. Al Azmi is probably just doing this so illegal barnyards and sheep and chicken can live in peace in areas such as jahra al andalus and so forth !

YOU HAVE A RULE: KEEP ON ABIDING TO THAT RULE !

EPA and all of those crap agencies should focus on actually funding productive projects in Kuwait. We Have the Money ! we choose not to spend it !

Build some Solar powered energy OBAMA is doing it, bet heat of Kuwait would be a plus.

Build more preserves and lets get some wildlife/habitat additions ( Most wildlife was destroyed in 1990)

Actually !! yeah i said it ! ACTUALLY GET ALL POLLUTANTS FROM THE AIR THAT WERE CAUSED BY THE DESERT WAR! every new kid is getting born with ASTHMA ALLERGIES AND SO ON !!!!!!

KUWAIT IS BEAUTIFUL LETS MAKE IT THE BEST CAUSE AS SOON AS ALTERNATIVE FUELS ARE A REALITY….

my friend get ready to pack, get your visas, were off to work in China and India ( next 2 world powers.. with China more likely to be so !)

@ I Love Kuwait

India & China the next 02 world powers????? Really?? I think not… Nuclear capability a Super Power does not make…. They may be upcoming ecconomic giants but still doubt they have reached super power levels. Besides since you mentioned pollution levels here in Kuwait after the Gulf War did you check the latest reports on the pollution levels of India and China? Kuwait is like a drop in the ocean compared to them why would we want to leave Kuwait and go to these places at least here when I wake up in the morning I can step out in my balcony and take in a deep breath of fresh air and feel good compared to doing the same thing in China and get a zillion toxins in my system to fuck me up with cancer or some other shit. Hell comaparitevly Kuwait is a paradise.

@ Security Advisor

Alternative source of energy: Kuwait will become one of the poorest countries ever…

Are we doing anything to prevent that ? 🙂
