A strange hijab incident

I took route 55 to get to the airport from my Kuwait City office and it was my first and last time I take that road to the airport. Too many traffic lights, lots of traffic, and just totally not the right way to get there fast. Anyway I am stuck in traffic and I look to my left and I see two Kuwaiti girls in a car. They look in their 20’s, the one driving looked like a nerd and her friend I guess looked decent. I didn’t think of them much and traffic started moving. We get to the next traffic light and they are still next to me. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed the decent looking girl was doing something, I didn’t turn to look because I didn’t want her to think I was checking her out or anything so I ignore it. Traffic light turns green we start moving and I look to my left and suddenly the decent looking girl is wearing a black hijab and her face is covered and you can just see her eyes. I was like what the fuck is going on here? We each drove off in different directions but I didn’t really understand what happened. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Is this like a normal thing?

I think they are trying to have fun being away from home, I don’t blame girls like that, they were forced to wear a hijab by their family, guess what they turned out to be, corrupted.

But life goes on, its all good experiences, we all did good and bad stuff, comeon mark, I bet you dont wanna share your experiences before getting married hahahaha!

Unfortunately the parents don’t reason their children on certain actions which are required. When you use force to enforce your ideas then when you are not there there will be violation. I don’t blame girls in their 20’s. I have seen some women in burqaa not with face covered trying to get my attention in kuwait. The moment you speak good english meaning with an ascent ,they simply drool looking at you.

Holla have u had a bad day??

That was a bit harsh……………dont talk horribly about all veiled women.

I’m really disappointed living in Jordan.I moved here last year hoping to gain more knowledge in islam.
But to my disappointment, I’ve seen so many negative things that i thought this could only happen in the West.
I’m a convert and I wear the hijab. But for me and most converts, hijab is not just covering your head but also your body.
My biggest disappointment in here: women wearing hijab with their tight jeans and tight shirt or wearing skirt that have slits on the sides, omg, but of course they never that hijab on their head.Hmmm is it bcoz they don’t hair lol, or their hair must be so ugly that wearing hijab will hide it. Even before i became a muslim, i was always conscious about showing parts of my body. Maybe bcoz my family are very conservative. But i really don’t understand these women. Is it lack of islamic education?
I am not perfect and i have so much to learn about islam but I try to practice my islam the best to my ability…
Looking back when i lived in the West, how it was a struggle to wear hijab and the only way to buy decent clothes is when there’s an islamic conference. How people look down on us,women, coz they all think we are oppressed bcoz of the way we are dressed.Alhamdulellah.I remember thinking back then too how it would be so easy living in an Islamic country, but now i really dont know what to think anymore.

OK people don’t judge the poor girl… She must have a religious dad and she might not believe in what he believes in, let’s be a bit more open-minded K?

CyberRowdy… lol and I supposed they’ll just drive right thru the borders!? ;P Women aren’t allowed to drive there, so going back home where they’re expected to be covered is more probable πŸ˜›

Four reasons to wear a hijab:
1-to follow the teachings of islam.
2-‘because daddy/mommy forced me’
3-Change of style.
4-To attract husbands.

I often used to see the quick-change artists in the parkade at the Faculty of Medicine in Jabriya. In would walk the young lady in very fashionable clothes, makeup and hair; a quick flick of the hands and head and out would drive the hijab and abaya.

well first of all you ppl shud mind ur own busines im a catholic n u shud al respect other cultures jus lyk dey respect ours i have very good friends who are religious n they didnt get forced into wearin hijaabs it was there own choice!

Well, this is not new to most of the oldies living in Kuwait.

Mark, this can be new for you, but for me, MAN!!! dont ask, I have seen this 100 times on road, girls without hijab and sudenly next moment you see them with hijab …. well i dont blame them too, they need to come out of 60’s and 70’s life living in Kuwait ….

Indeed Islam tells them to cover their hair, but dear freinds, at the same time there are 20 other orders come along with Hijab, which very few obey ….

As per my experience in living in Kuwait, the best person to ask or related above blog is poor poor taxi drivers … they know much more then us … becuase they go through it every day …

Cheers Guys …..

Witnessed a similar incident at Pizza Express at the Airport a couple of months ago… my colleagues (all expats) were simply amused by this beautiful lady’s act! Walked in with her face covered, checked her surroundings to actually look out for any religious police (do you have any in Kuwait?? I don’t know!) and off came the cover… we were amused and stunned at this lady’s beauty…
Read some comments on this blog and I agree that it could be parental or society pressure… whatever it is… this lass sure knew that her looks could make a few hearts skip a beat!

maybe ya’ll should be focusing on the road more than whether the llady next to you takes off or put on a hijab,
