I picked up the latest issue of brownbook and they had an article on Kuwait’s online fashion market mentioning how there were nearly 60 online stores and highlighting their favorite 7. Here they are:
1. www.gojiboutique.com
2. www.krayvstore.com
3. www.cash-art.com
4. www.q8-fashion.com
5. www.butterfly-g.com
6. www.pinkmoonboutique.com
7. www.labiella.com

….. well at least we used the internet for one thing other than sex and flame wars ……
Brownbook- is that the upmarket Bazaar for brownnoses?
its a very trendy and stylish magazine that extremely well designed.
People are not getting what shopping websites are all about! I mean, the owners dont BUY the items unless someone orders it, for example if i want something from polo i order it from a kuwaiti site and then the kuwaiti site will order it from the original site!!
Business is about taking risks and working hard on minimizing the cost and maximing the profit. They dont do that. all the sites put (by order) to the items they have!
I go to kuwaiti websites so that my order will be delievered within days, what’s the point of ordering something from kuwait and waiting for 14 days to get it? .. i dont understand!
Any one agrees? disagrees? anything!?
Aloha… you cant “generalise” i know a couple of websites, which actually “stock” items.
i think all of the ones listed above have the items in stock and dont order them for u.
mmh, sold out, not in stock…. Mark I think Aloha is not wrong. I didn’t check all stores, but as somebody who buys whatever makes sense at amazon and ebay I must say that what I have seen looks like somebody who is, lets say in the learning phase, looks a bit like playing real live. Nice designs of the sites at least ;-).
But to open a webshop here is already a brave action, we should appreciate it. With all the freight forwarders buying outside Q8 is most of the time very cheap. People who dont know how to do, wouldn’t use the local websites anyway. So we should give the local shops some time.
mark why do you always post fashion why not electroincs or computer parts 😛
Hawally is maybe not yet online 😉
Jens , you might be right about “sold out”, but to be constantly in stock is tough. if you compare Kuwaiti Websites to online mega stores. We need to consider the market segments they cater to. for example 10000 pieces of an IPOD nano sold in a larger market could be relatively equal to 100 pieces of ipod nano sold to a smaller market.
Thats why I said it’s brave. But if I get i cheaper AND faster from US there is no use for local shops. No risk not fun.
i love to see kuwaiti youth making an effort at all this internet shopping, however, they are all overpriced to a certain extent, and they have limited selection & sizes. People will continue to order form abroad. why not make it official, official retailing is easy. Bulk buy A&F shorts for example, which would cost around the same to have it shipped or a little bit less after adding profit. Just and idea!
Some stores aren’t completely online, but some of those stores I know stock up items! They have both online and real stores!
agreed, this would involve professional market research, professional purchase, professional P/L calculation, professional selling…Internet shopping is a great market, a friend of mine paid his villa from it and a lot more.Bastard he is 😉
How come that house on the left looks like a swastica?
ugh i have no idea who designs these retarded websites..
it’s either flash based or bought as templates from ‘buyashoppingcartwebsite.com” websites.
its useless specially in kuwait ( small country and all have cars, many manny malls, and thanx good rich so not a big deal ..etc)
the whole thing in these sites is the site itself seems it took 80% of their time to design the site and the things they sell is just nothing! nothing special ..hey! we r in kuwait not waq waq island!!! with respect to waq waq 😛
Just a shame they all have a very poor staple of brands and poor ranges………
