Chinese Takeout

Expat and the City has an interesting post on how Chinese prostitutes have taken over American housing areas in Fahaheel and Mahboula. The girls are trying to pick up guys during the day and night without even trying to stay low key. Where are the cops? Nowhere in sight. The reason I’ve chosen to highlight her post is because it’s related in a slight way to my 5àsec post from yesterday and my numerous complaints on how cops parked traffic lights on the Gulf Road watch cars run red lights and not care.

It’s easy and obvious to blame the cops for not doing their job but personally I no longer blame them. I think the cops are frustrated and have just given up caring but for good reason. Why should they waste their time handing out tickets or arresting people when everyone has wasta to get out of a ticket or a misdemeanor? I can imagine how demoralizing this must be for them.

After reading more stuff from that blogger, I have a feeling the guy/girl keeps a thing against China and chinese people.

And though I am by far not chinese, its just sad bloggers turning into PR agents for different countries/communities/religions.

عجيب أمرك. Where did it indicate in “that blogger’s” post any resentment towards the Chinese? She took it upon herself to post about an alarming rise of prostitutes in Mangaf/Mahboula/Fintas/Abu Halifa/and Fahaheel. Families, Kuwaiti and non-Kuwaiti, dine in these areas, and they are already worried by the construction-inflicted traffic jam. The last thing they need to worry about is call girls on the loose. Personally speaking, I was approached by these ill-repute girls at Sultan Center and I was disgusted by their audacity. She actually reacted as any decent and moral resident would do! I cannot believe that you are not bothered that these call girls are scouring the alleys and streets in these areas looking for a potential client.

I have also seen something similar right in front of sultan center fahaheel, you can find two to three girls who handover a small pices of paper to Americans who come to shop, yuo will even see all these happening after 7pm, it is sad to see that this happening right in front of sultan center and nobody bothers.

Seriously, who cares?

Where is the economic development of the country?

Where is the implementation and progress plan to restore Kuwait’s reputation?

The last thing anyone should give a damn about is Chinese hookers.

Yeah who cares if a bunch of hookers are spreading STD’s around our country, or the fact that they’re approaching potential clients in broad daylight and in supermarkets. You’re right!

You’re talking as if the Chinese hookers are forcibly screwing their clients which is simply ridiculous. Equally blame the people who use them and end up with STDs.

Yes, they ALL must have STD’s…..you’re quite smart dude…not

I agree, but there are a million other things Kuwait should focus on rather than a few prostitutes.

Fix the roads, education systems, hospitals first, then deal with the trash on the street.

In my friend’s apartment building in Salmiya, the superintendent or “hares” finds them for him. They’re very accessable these days (pun intended).

The building opposite mine in Farwaniya is a kind of run down building but it is frequented by people who want to have ‘fun’ discretely. My building caretaker or hares says that COPS, yes the police are frequent visitors. I shit you not.

Last week i was out handing out some invitation cards. i buzzed an old friend who had changed her number long back. no body answered.

i got a missed call the next da when i was at work..i called back.. that number is used by a some filipino lady (by her accent) now.

i said i dialed it by mistake and kept the fone..

she called again.. asked if i was kuwaiti.. i said no.. filipino no… where r u from..lol

the same day she called me 2 more times.. i decided to bloack her number coz i’m seriously not in to picking up random chics..

next day when i came to work i had 2 missed calls on my office number (remember i called her back?). i didnt respond.. havent heard from her since..

Sadly, these girls have to face all the blame. The guys using them would never be touched. The weaker of the two would be prosecuted when the punishment should be shared.

What do you mean ‘sadly’? If someone offers you cookies you might take them, sure it may be your fault because you’re lactose intolerant but they already know giving out cookies is not allowed and the risk they are putting themselves in. Also, wtf did I just say talking about cookies… Hope you understood it though LOL

What he is saying is that you can’t blame God, you have to blame Adam for eating the forbidden fruit(apple).

I see guys(mostly kuwaiti) solicit women ALL the time. My friend and i were at Xcite, and she got solicited, she was afraid to tell me. Had i known at the time, he would have had a mouth full of teeth.

Also i’ve seen old patheic americans try to pick up the weirdest looking women at grocery stores……..it was actually pretty funny because he was just holding out his cell phone, and the women didn’t give two shits.

As always most people express shock and outrage at how other nationalities are being whores forgetting that there is a kuwaiti who got them in the country, there is no way they would have ever entered without the proper visa requirements. so instead of going round arresting these ladies just go to the source and arrest him – but that will never happen

Chinese citizens, along with nationals from 34 other countries, are eligible for visa upon arrival at the airport. So, they don’t need Kuwaitis to bring them in.

Sometime last year, ALrai posted that people were complaining about “asian” going door-to-door in salmiya and offering “massage” services…

Talk about Outdoor Sales 🙂

This thing in the Mahboula area has been going on for a loooooooong time. I lived there over 8 years ago, and I used to see them all over the place.

I am surprised! Not because that prostitutes exist, historically its the oldest profession. But at the fact, that everyone seems surprised that prostitution exists in KUWAIT.

I know that there are places all over Kuwait, especially in suburbs and some have existed since the early 90’s. Additionally, i walk a lot and whenever i pass through an empty ground (maidan), i have seen these vanette’s propositioning any woman to come into the car.

Finally, do you have an empty furnished apartment in your building, that is rarely used except on weekends? What do you think they are. HINT: L-O-V-E-N-E-S-T.

I have a gay American friend who is constantly (wrongly) being confronted in The Sultan Center at Kout by Chinese prostitutes. He says that the “ladies” get quite aggressive until he starts screaming, “Leave me alone! Leave me alone!”

Just the mental picture gives me the giggles.

I agree wholeheartedly, Mark. I’ve been saying for awhile that change here needs to happen from the top down, not the other way around. No matter how good a cop’s intentions may be when he starts out, I can see that changing in a hurry when there is no support from his superiors.

this has been going on for years … the Chinese hookers in Mahboula at least. When my wife & I temporarily rented in Mahboula in 2006 it was normal to find phone numbers slipped under the door when we returned home from work .. they obviously had their run of the building and probably the Egyptian guards downstairs as well 🙂

Go to a theatre like at Al Kout, on weekend nights. You see Americans accompanied by Asian women. Not particularly discreet, are they?

I’m sure you’re one to judge. You are vile if that’s your thought process. I bet Asians don’t think the same when they see “your kind”, as you put it. Show some class, even if it’s fake. God, people have no values these days.

Even worse. Where do you come off thinking it grants you the right to judge? Oh yeah, because you’re Asian too. Total sense. If you see “most” Asians like that, well that says a lot about you.

Not that it even matters, but I feel you’re using “Asian” as a broad term; fyi Kuwait is in Asia– I don’t think I need to elaborate further. You have no right. End of.

I’m a Kuwaiti, and I condone respect for all races.

Sorry to have jumped the gun, here, but hey presto; was I hibernating when the baton was being passed
from Filipina to Lithuanian/ Belarus prossies
to now these Chinese women of the night or indeed, of the afternoon siestas?!
Q8, unlike Dubai, doesn’t seem to have undergone the whole East European invasion, it would seem and now that’s outrageous!
Can’t they have some kind of unified GCC customs unnion or league for these kind of professional services?
🙂

“Why should they waste their time handing out tickets or arresting people when everyone has wasta to get out of a ticket or a misdemeanor?”

We wake up everyday, go to work, do a good job, and get paid. Frustration should not be a reason for anyone not to perform his/her duties.

Children, children. Calm down. Your kittle bible you created of how you want the world to work is not going to burst.

People break traffic laws all the time. Wasta or not. The problem is how it affects people. Are people dying here more than other places. It’s all relative. Wanting perfection is just fascist disguised as good will. Relatively speaking violence is low.

Also the real complaint should be how these prostitutes are the one allowed to be prostitute when relatively speaking around the world they are of higher class. I dont personally encourage this behavior, but it serves a purpose.

However, that purpose is to also offer some satisfaction to people in their lives. And it seems they are not nice hookers. So the whole point is not working as intended.

So you people don’t want religious extremism, and dint want hookers. But somehow don’t want people to be violent. I am going to say this so you understand the human being is not just a Braun with ideas but also emotions. Do you think it’s natural for a human to live a conservative lifestyle without religion, and without sex in their life? They will be frustrated. In fact if the sex lives of people was healthier then there would less reckless driving. That’s why thing should make sense, you have eithers and or, bit you can’t take the negatives from two different lifestyles and say that’s how a human will function. People will become more selfish without religion or a common identity, and without the satisfactions in life to keep them happy they will be selfish and angry.

Lack of religion does not cause selfishness. This is just you wishing that it did.

There are perfectly moral and nice people all over the world who have nothing to do with religion, just as there are criminals and rapists who allege they are religious….

It is common knowledge that KWPD likes to bunk most of all with Bangla cabbies moonlighting as pimps by night which has led to prostitution in Kuwait spreading like a virus. Or who knows the whole prostitution racket may well be receiving their tacit support, which could help explain how these prossies count cops among their clientele. Still my heart goes out to some these women of the night who have gotten off to a bad start in Life and are victims of their station in Life.

as said in hindi, “taali ek haath se nahi bajti”

Means, to clap you need two hands,

someone sensed there is demand for such thing,so he / she / they arranged for the supply

Before the Chinese, this started becoming a problem with women who were not being paid a wage by their companies, or as maids. They had to supplement or even get an INITIAL income to be able to afford simple things like rent (and in the case of maids) – food. The maids that are not kept under lock and key then turned to prostitution. Sure there are always people who will prostitute themselves because its easier but it certainly didn’t start that way here. Kuwaitis are destroying their own society and blaming it on someone else. Until someone up top addresses the human rights issues and implements fair wage policies – this will only get worse.

Mark, I’m intrigued to know your moderation methods. I usually don’t give it notice, bar this post. I posted 2 comments, pending moderation, in reply to what I saw as “ignorance”. I say it like that because racism is ignorance, though the majority fail to agree on it as such, sadly. And today, I see only the one comment come through. (I can’t even remember who I replied to anymore- I’m sure you can see it).

That leaves the ignorance on display, and denies my attempt at counterbalancing it. I made sure it was clean; after all, I did have a grander point to make rather than failing the obvious moderation. You don’t have to post this, I just want your consideration on the matter. That is all.

Your consideration would be nice.

the streets in kuwait are getting more and more dangerous every passing day , i keep seeing young youth traveling in flocks in the streets swearing in pubic with their loudest voice not having the tiniest bit of manners , i fear those are the same criminals who carry out these horrendous robberies and murders . im really starting to fear for the safety of myself and my family and i started to look for a better job opportunity somewhere outside of this country.
