Since the weather has cooled down now with nice breezy evenings, the Cinemagic rooftop movies are back again and this year they’re no longer charging KD1, the movies are all free! Below is their schedule for October:
Thursday, October 6th at 7:30pm
THE FALL
In a hospital on the outskirts of 1920s Los Angeles, an injured stuntman begins to tell a fellow patient, a little girl with a broken arm, a fantastical story about 5 mythical heroes. Thanks to his fractured state of mind and her vivid imagination, the line between fiction and reality starts to blur as the tale advances.

THE ILLUSIONIST
A French illusionist finds himself out of work and travels to Scotland, where he meets a young woman. Their ensuing adventure changes both their lives forever.

A college professor travels to New York City to attend a conference and finds a young couple living in his apartment.

WINGS OF DESIRE
An angel tires of overseeing human activity and wishes to become human when he falls in love with a mortal.

HUNGER
Irish republican Bobby Sands leads the inmates of a Northern Irish prison in a hunger strike.

LA HAINE
Abdel, a local hoodlum, is hospitalized after a riot, where a policeman lost his gun. His friend Vinz finds it and claims he will kill a cop if Abdel dies.

BIG
When a boy wishes to be big at a magic wish machine, he wakes up the next morning and finds himself in an adult body literally overnight.

THE SHINING
A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.
Cinemagic Kuwait, is organizing these events as part of its efforts to contribute to the development of an internationally competitive Kuwaiti audio-visual production industry, partly by bringing the filmmakers and audiences together and by Increasing the public’s interest in – and appreciation for – the art of film-making. Cinemagic movies are screened in the old Salmiya, on the roof on top of Alghanim Electronics and LG. Entrance is free of charge and includes refreshments, popcorn and much more. Just a small piece of information, the screenings for this season is FREE of charge. We will not be charging 1 KD anymore 🙂 i hope everyone enjoys!

Woow, this will be first time experience for me watching a roof top movie. Never even knew all this happens here. Seriously, I am getting aloot of information reading blogs. I am going for this with my hubby and then will go with family and then even with friends + the weather is getting sooooo much better. Thanks Mark :).

I haven’t posted here in ages, but I had to when I saw this post…You MUST watch La Haine (“Hate”)–a great French film from 1995 that deals with racism and police brutality. Amazing amazing amazing.
What is the seat capacity, I really want to go. But Do not want to end up standing and watching the movie 😛

It’s awesome.Not your typical cinema feel.It reminds me of the drive-in theatres we had in my country during the 80’s.
The Fall (dir by visual auteur par excellence Tarsem Singh) is simply stunning to look at, and packs in a surprisingly emotional story at its core. It is an absolute crime that the film went literally unnoticed at the plexes. Highly recommended!
