Customs back to normal?

Four of my Aramex packages cleared customs today and are out for delivery which is strange since I thought customs were on an “indefinite strike“. The packages actually cleared faster than usual since they were only stuck in customs for two days and that included yesterdays strike. Weird.

because the head of air customs (khalid alsaif) is doing the job of clearing all air cargo – from burashid news

I guess if one man is enough to do the job, why increasing their salary!!??

Why don’t all the government workers go on strike at once, close the country down and force the government to cave in to all their demands, instead of doing a different strike everyday with each different ministry airing their demands. It will be more effective. Demand government perform!

Customs are on strike. If you received any shipments they are either cleared on Sunday till 10 pm ( this is when the strike started) or are conveyable non-documents and documents that can be transferred via passenger channels at the airport. They can be moved without customs clearance.

Guys do not get too excited, the packages you received were from a backlog of 5000 packages from last weeks customs fiasco (1 KD extra charge). Nothing is getting through customs at the moment, so forget about ordering anything for the moment.

same here.. my package stayed in kuwait one day only!! usually it takes them like a week to be cleared so yeah I guess thats a good thing!

Nope, double checked with DHL and TNT strike is still ongoing, there are hopes that tomorrow everything will be back to normal.

There’s just no distinguishable difference between volume of work when working, and when on strike. Comme d’hab.

We were given an email today that no U.S. mail is coming into or leaving Kuwait, and there is no end in sight.
Very poor. I hope they fire all the striking employees.
