Proud to be Kuwaiti is a foundation that was formed to recognize and encourage the youth of Kuwait to depend on themselves and establish their own business by giving their skills and talent a chance to shine. I posted about them last year when they had their first event and tomorrow the event is back for the second time. Like last year a ton of small local start ups will be participating. I won’t be able to attend since I am in Lebanon but Nataly will be going for sure. Here are some event details:
Proud 2 be Kuwaiti
Location: Al Raya Ballroom
February 22nd from 6pm to 10pm
February 23rd from 10am to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm
Event is open to everyone and more than 100 small Kuwaiti businesses will be featured. Here is a link to their website. [Link]

Everyone participating should also get together to push for government help such as SBA to facilitate and promote small businesses.
The website is a bit poor, for most of the participants no contact details are available, its good to have a business, its even better if your potential customrs knows where u are π
They’re all at the Raya Ballroom, Jins boy. dun dun dun?
Suspic, I assume there business is not in the Ballroom the whole year π The website has all the participants, but the contact fields are empthy…

must be the same people that work on the hala feb site. You click on the 209 schedule and it’s coming soon. Maybe they’ll get it right in this country before I just GTFO.
But what can you do, when the “professional” companies still use yahoo and hotmail addresses for employees.
Back on point, for most of us expats that want to learn about the local country, they seem to make it difficult to find out any info online as the web sites are always “under construction”.
You know the so-called web designers keep their facebook/myspace/twitter pages up to date daily.
^ lol
Thanks for posting that, Mark. Without you, I wouldn’t know about these kinds of things. Is it Dhari Wazzan who is behind it?
Thanks for the info. I’m new here..where is Raya Ballroom?

Thanks to KA fan I was arrested last night and i lost my business. I am posting from jail now π
Holla,
Maybe these Kuwaiti small business owners were upset that their profits went down this week. What will all the Kuwaiti’s do this Liberation day without their Johnny Walker Red Label?

@Jim: Bwahahaahhahah! These bottles will end up as case evidence at MOI’s bonded warehouse in Sulaibiya then once the verdict is out these will then be taken in the middle of the desert and crushed under a 5 tone MHE. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh! why God why?
Holla, it is not funny to mock islam and the kuwaiti society traditions & culture…..
I know it’s not funny. I am trying to portray the horrible mentality of corruption that happens in Kuwait.
Isn’t this post outdated? the event took place abut 2 weeks ago
