Flight School

If I want to learn how to fly is there a place in Kuwait where one can take lessons? A flight school?

There are no flight schools in Kuwait.

Closest flight schools to you are in Qatar and the UAE.

Are you just after a trial flight? Or do you want to go all the way and earn your private pilots licence?

A trial flight is basically a hands-on experience flight with an instructor.

You go up for an hour or so and get a feel for what’s involved.

You have no choice but to leave the country.

There are flight schools in sunny countries like Spain/South Africa/USA that offer intensive full-time training towards your private pilots licence (PPL) and it only takes 4-5 weeks.

Pilot training & holiday rolled into one!

But then again, once your a qualified PPL, you won’t have the opportunity to fly in Kuwait.

yea getting a personal pilot licence is not hard, but u have to forget about going to the US is u ever have a pilot licence (even the commercial flight pilots find it really annoying going to the US) . for me I love flying but I will never think about getting a licence since I am a US tourism lover

There are no flight schools in Kuwait. However, there are few in Lebanon, UAE, and Egypt. The problem is there are no aircraft rentals in Kuwait. Furthermore, every time you rent an airplane they will test you (ask you some questions and get FI with you in a plan and do some maneuvers and emergency procedure). You will also need to take a test every two years to keep your private pilot license current. Basically, if you are not going to keep flying on regular basis it will be a waste of money.

Kuwait Airways trains them in the desert with gliders.

Then sticks them on FlightSim 2009 PC version.

You can go anywhere in Europe for example if you’re on a summer vacation and take relaxed laid back flights with any of the flying academies, license and vacation all in one. They are basically located everywhere except Kuwait

Not in Kuwait but you can try the Umm Al Quwain Aeroclub, they do flight training and you can also do skydiving there.

If you don’t want to pursue an aviation career the middle east then go to the US it is much more fun than anywhere in the world. Let me know if you are prepared I can give you contacts, it would cost you around 4500-6000$ for a full FAA PPL VFR, it depends on the aircraft you choose. VFR allows you to fly under VFR conditions lmited visibility and below clouds and not suggested to fly at night. It would cost you another $5000 to go IFR which allows you to depends on instrument flying hence allowing you to fly above clouds and low visibilities. I would highly suggest for the time being to join IVAO organization and flight sim with a professional aircraft that you can purchase online and download. You can spend your time learning real procedures/communications etc for free until you are ready to go to the real thing and this will save you a lot of money btw.
