My plan over this long weekend is to do absolutely nothing.

Throughout the city of Dubai it is full of festive activities, firework displays, magnificant singers, restaruant buffets with a whole host of Eid celebrations for the family. For example, at the Dubai Mall there will be
cultural activities will include live band performances, henna painting, Arabic tents serving coffee and dates, falconry, Emirati heritage activities, face painting, balloon bending and parades featuring acrobats, trumpet players, flag carriers, clowns, stilt walkers and entertainers. Bottomline there are economic problems which is stemmed from the lack of development in the country. My question to Kuwaitis is how long can you live like this when everytime there is a holiday you have a bankroll a holiday overseas whether it is to neighboring Dubai or London? We are in a global economic crisis at the moment and even India is predicted to go into a resession as reported in yesterday’s paper, it costs alot for the plane tickets alone for the average Kuwaiti family of 4 children to board a flight and then there are hotel costs, etc. There are two Eids, public holiday etc, can you really afford to run to the airport to enjoy life on every holiday?? Your government is probably on the high street now and has left you in a stagnated economy with no proper Eid celebrations. These MP’s that insist on censorship should get a time-out for insulting this holiday by limiting public celebrations and the public should demand firework displays and a better performance level from government officials. You disserve entertainment like the Emiritis have in their country so you don’t have to go abroad to enjoy life every holiday. Wake up!!

Okay, so now, some of them have families and friends abroad so it’s a good time for them to get together, you should take this issue out on some political site.

Went to the Avenues today to see if there were any Eid celebrations in the mall like KKman stated above that are going on in Dubai in the malls, and I was told that “Management has not planned any activities for Eid”. Not one activity for Eid?? The mall was crowded around 2:00pm, not that many shopping bags, people seemed in a dismal mood. The restaurants were full. Shake Shack was the busiest, they could have used some more tables for the holidays and they had room to do expand. I purchased a burger to go to test it, because I just got back from NYC and ate the Shake Burger there. I give the Shack burger a 9 out of 10. The beef seemed fresh. The oil? I am always concerned about what oil they are cooking with and at Shake Shack NYC, they use Canola Oil. The music was upbeat and I think pritty much that was the most happening place in the Avenues for Eid. Starbucks, of course, was full of people smoking, so I guess Kuwait can pride themselves in having the only Starbucks in the world that allows smoking#$#@ I give the Avenues managment staff a -1, they could have done something entertainment wise for the Kuwait public. Kuwait, if people feel happy they spend more money. I did not see many shopping bags, so their poor managment skills backfired on them regardless of the restaurant numbers.
