We do have Kuwaiti version of “oh shit!”, but I guess it would sound too crude had they written “خره!”
I don’t mind humor but I must say (and with all due respect) that I find these offensive.
Please do not attack me other commentators of this blog. I am a person who respects my religion very much and the story of prophet Ibrahim and his son which led to us sacrificing sheep on this day is in my opinion (and in islam’s teachings) should not be made light of.
Again please if you decide to respond to this comment please do so nicely as I have worded my comment in a respectful manner as well.
I hope you can understand where I am coming from. Just because a lot of us (kuwaities, muslims, arabs) joke about these stuff too doesn’t make it okay in fact it is belittling our great religion.
Especially the caption which is a very crud and insulting word to associate with Islam “Shit”
I am just expressing my feelings as you are free to do as well and that is why I am not ‘attacking’ you. But perhaps in the long run it is also in your best interest to put some extra thought into certain blog posts and how they could be viewed.
It is not about freedom of speech and I can do anything I want I am free. It’s just about being a nice guy and putting other people’s feelings into consideration like any other kind loving and nice person would do.
Eid mubarak Mark. And May Allah grant you success.
Point taken. Thanks.
If you don’t mind, the annotation on the photograph refers to what people (Muslim, and non Muslim) would expect the sheep to be thinking.
So whats so offensive if we are assuming that the sheep is actually afraid of whats coming? It is the slaughter season after all.
Personally, no offense, I feel like your being over sensitive regarding this meme.
