I Heart Kuwait

Al Hamra Tower have installed a large “I heart Kuwait” sign outside the building as part of their contribution to Kuwait for National Day. It’s not a temporary structure so it will most likely end up being a popular spot for photos.

The sewer smell, am I right? It even made its way into one of the cinemas (don’t know if it’s always there since I only went to that theater once).

I don’t think its from the sewers. I think its hydrogen sulfide released by the oil wells beneath the City.

actually the shit smell has been around the sharq area for as long as i can remember (I’ve lived in Sharq for over almost 30 years now) … it was even here when Sheikh Jaber was living here… which made me wonder how ridiculous it must be that that wouldnt get fixed in spite of the palace

That sculpture has been replicated in so many parts of the world and this is a homage of it. In fact, it is one of the reasons why I like it. But I agree with the hollow heart comment.

I get that. I’ve seen it say hope and a lot of other stuff. The thing is Kuwait has so many talented artists why not commission something truly original from one or a group of artists in Kuwait. Either way it is still cool and fun to snap a photo in front of with your special person.

@3azeez:

I couldn’t have said it better myself. The strong stench of sewage and the slip shod valet facility has to be experienced first hand to be believed.

Have nothing to crib abt the sculpture though. Is going to be the must go to place for lovers in Kuwait each Valentine’s day.
