Hermès sent out invitations to their opening at Al Hamra Tower which will be on the 13th of December. I’m not sure if anyone can attend the opening without an invitation but you could give it a shot if you really want a bag. The invite says the event starts at 7pm and I’m guessing if they will have any Kelly’s or Birkin’s available they’ll probably all be taken that first night.

I have not been invited yet I doubt they will allow customers to crash the opening party. Then again everyone who can afford a Birkin or a Kelly has already gotten more than one in their cupboards so maybe now the fact that its available in Kuwait will mean that people will buy less of it…
well, am sure that more than 50% of those birkins u see around Kuwait are fakes. Its all about showing off. just like adding a fake S to a Porsche Carrera :p. hellooo I can see ur single exhaust pipes :p
Wasn’t that the one in Paris who wouldn’t let Oprah and her entourage in? Big racist stink over it if I remember correctly- she was knocking on the doors to get in and they thought ‘ hey some poor black woman, lock her out…..’. Wonder is she invited to this one.

She came knocking after the store closed. However, because she is “The Oprah” she felt she was entitled to special treatment which regular people aren’t. When she didn’t get that, she turned it to a racist thing. SO ironic that a black woman is complaining because she did not get preferential treatment.
The yet belongs to the I doubt. So my sentence was “I Have Not Been Invited” then “yet I doubt they will allow customers to crash”… it was not “I have not been invited yet”… therefore I have not been holding my breath as I am not even a fan of hermes.

Kuwait has a very limited crowd who purchase CD ,LV etc in Kuwait and many prefer to buy in Europe so they can claim their VAT back !

Depends. A lot of brands are more expensive in New York then say London. And some stuff in Kuwait is cheaper than both those places.
You are telling me there are actually shops in Al Hamra?? We went to look at the tower weekend before last and it just looked like one huge building site in front of the tower. We could not get inside. And now you say Hermes is opening?? Are they crazy? I would not open my exclusive shop in that Tower untill ALL was finished inside AND out. I love the design of the tower though which was why we went over there.
Same with that other tower nearby with the coloured bits in the windows. What is that??? Besides a buildibg site. It all looks great at nite but not so much in the day. You would think that certainly with the Al Hamra Tower there would be a huge frontage seeing it is an iconic building. Shame.
hey kathinka, yes the building you saw in front of the tower is Alhamra mall, a high-class 5 steps mall that in includes stores like Hermes, and cafes like GUCCI Cafe, and a Cinema include 8-screens called “GRAND CINEMAS” not to mention swimming pool and spa, the mall will be a big event when it’s done, it’s due to open early-2012! 🙂
An Al Hamra source says that due to the significant event Hermes is organizing at Al Hamra Mall on the 13th of December, a special service of extra security has been implemented.
No guest will be allowed to get in without an invite and/or their names in the RSVP list.
