makes sense. Kuwait has the most number of self important people in the Middle East
Don’t forget there is less to do in kuwait than most Arab states and certainly much less freedom and culture – with exception of Saudi arabia
SDL – utterly false! Trying publicly making that comment in Qatar, Jordan, Syria, UAE. Freedom has nothing to do with it. You could’ve said people are bored to death here.
Hahaha yes we are the ones having violent protests against our governments for not giving us freedom. Oh wait
They are bored to death – less freedom = less culture, concerts, movie censorship or bans etc — less personal freedom
Actually it’s the exact opposite, because Kuwait has more freedom of speech people are ok talking about politics on Twitter. Compare this to bloggers and people on twitter in Egypt and Syria who are arrested simply for tweeting
Via me as well, no? He only answered correctly bcz he googled it 😛
Kuwait is the only country in the Middle East, barring Lebanon which has its own democratic realities to deal with, in which you can say almost anything and don’t have to be worried about getting abducted from your bedroom in the middle of the night. Censorship of sexual scenes is equivalent to a ban on cocaine in developed countries. Both cultures believe that it is bad for public health.
In Paris there are nude ads on the bus station, but if you try that in Texas, there would public outcry. Does that mean that there is more freedom in Paris (where the Niqab is ban) than in Texas?
As for culture, Kuwait is rich in culture and produces the most written texts out of any Arab country (Ministry of Information statistics). That means that Kuwait is the wealthiest Arab country in literature. We also have a booming art scene and produce our own movies/shows in great numbers. I don’t think “less personal freedom” was the term you were looking for but you’re free to say what you like. After all, we’re in Kuwait 😉
No man you’re confused I can’t go out to a club that means there’s no personal freedom!
Whenever someone says “less to do” it’s basically code for they can’t find alcohol
