I am not sure if you have mentioned it before, you can also now can get it (unlocked) from Apple online store in the States
for 180KD 16GB ($649)
208KD 32GB($749)
235KD 64GB ($849)
but when you add tax to it for the 16gb It gets to KD195 + delivery charges thats nearly kd200 or a bit over and the waiting time is 2 weeks for delivery to the Aramex mail box and then almost 2 weeks to kuwait. All this hassle for kd30 extra.
With the current custom situation I wouldnt want to take a risk!!
2 weeks? Have you actually ordered something or are you making this stuff up?
I placed an order last week for my iPhone 16 gb from states. It said delivery time 1 to 2 weeks n they gave me expected date of delivery between 4th and 9th Dec which is 2 weeks!!!
I’ve tried to buy and delivery date now is 3 weeks, however when I went ahead with Credit Card payment I used the US mailbox as it did not give an option to change the country. This morning the order got cancelled by them !!
So i guess this is not an option if you dont have a US credit card with a US billing address.
Not really, they cancel them because in some cases they know your shipping to a mail forwarding address which is against their policy. I used my Kuwaiti credit card but shipped the phone to a friend in the states and it worked perfectly. He received the phone yesterday.
then send it through USPS which is extra few bucks and it’ll all add up i think 220 to 230 is a reasonable price.

I don’t think there is any. The price is probably low to get people to visit their website. Kinda like what Sheeel was doing when they first launched. My guess is they’ll probably have more offers popping up occasionally until everyone knows about their website.
It’s only for one day, I’m guessing they’re taking a loss so people will visit

You know what else is “just amazing”? my old phone. seriously, why should anyone get a new phone when their current phone isn’t even six months old.
here’s a little secret: in a couple of months, they’ll probably bring out the iphone5, which will be even more amazing! and after that, the iphone 5s which, you guessed it, is much more amazing then its predecessor.

If by their current phone you mean the iPhone 4, that phone has been out for over a year. It was released in June 2010, we’re now November 2011 so do the math. There are some major changes in the new iPhone and saying that I wasted my money buying it even though I had the older 4 is just a stupid comment. You can stick to your “old phone”, no one is forcing you change neither is anyone poking fun out of you for keeping it but for a lot of people upgrading to the latest phone every year is a purchase thats worth it. I know I have zero regrets upgrading from the iPhone 4 and once the iPhone 5 comes out in a years time you can bet I’ll be first in line to order one.

Just saw it, I Dont think this is a GOOD DEAL, I got it for UD649 + 10KD Shipping,it cost my 190kd only.. this is not a WOW deal..Even today in one of those mobile advertisment think Mobile2000 or blink for KD225
It depends how you look at it. It cost me KD230 and 2 weeks of waiting to get the iPhone from the UK Apple Store. Paying the same amount and getting it the next day here locally is a good deal. Also Blink is selling it for KD265 not KD225. The only better deal would be to order it from the Apple Store US but that involves a 2 week wait before it even gets shipped and will cost between 190-200kd by the time it gets to Kuwait. Again some people would rather pay 230 and get it right away instead of dealing with online purchasing and shipping.

don’t think there are taxes on phones. for my iphone i didn’t pay customs.

I really like excite and their use of twitter but i was very disappointed with their website. Only 24 TV’s in the whole website, none in the higher end of the market. Is the website gonna be a dumping ground for slow moving inventory and special offers or are they actually going to have the full alghanim store on it?

one more thing, inorder to make the website win market share, update it with the latest gadgets, dont put the old stuff. there is also a problem with the pricing, the ipad2 32gg sells for 209.950 while the same ipad2 645gb sells for 192.950. fix it or ull loose alot of costumers and money
