So last week I posted about how I was against making my street greener before the garbage issue gets sorted. Well the street is now 3 days away from being completed and it’s starting to look good. Maybe this new look will encourage people not to litter.

not to litter!!!!!! thats just hard thing to do man
but yaah why not let us hope for best ^_^
its all fun and games until people start parking their cars all over the green….
and in that area, we all know its going to happen
What new look?
See I told you it’ll spruce up the place!
And you were complaining, I think I’ve visited this part of Salmiya a few days ago, there were so many brand name shops I couldn’t believe it. I remmeber the last time I’ve visited it there were some of those cheap lingerie stores and a kids H&M there.
Are there any cafes or bookstores?
I don’t remember a cafe there … hmm there is a bookstore but on the other side of that road. Near that store ‘Limelight’, it’s called ‘zat elsalasel’.
No cafes but u have cinemagic and family bookshop there… And lots of memories 🙂
Cinemagic? Family bookshop is better then no bookshop…
Family Bookshop is past it’s glory days…..
I hope they don’t tear down this part of Salmiya like they did to the round building 100 meters up the road. I think there should be a law against demolishing heritage sites even if it’s private property. Most cities in the world have protection clauses for historical locations.
Granted, the location in Salmiya is not 300 years old, but how can you have a 300 year old anything if you keep demolishing stuff every 20 years? Buildings are not disposable items; they are part of the local culture.
End of sermon 🙂
“Maybe this new look will encourage people not to litter.” – exact sentiments at Avenues when they started the no smoking campaign. Maybe people won’t smoke?
What they should do is close the street and not allow any cars in, and turn it into an european style street with cafes brands and fountains.
oh yeah and remove those ugly cemetry trees
Is it just me or did they simply redo the tiles? Wheres the “green” grass?
