Kuwait Towers are Trippy

Have you guys passed by the Kuwait Towers at night? I kinda love how the towers now have some pretty trippy graphics animated on them. The video above kind of gives you a glimpse of how they look like but its actually even cooler in real life especially with the 70s style kaleidoscope effect. I’m kinda hoping this isn’t just a temporary thing for Hala February but something they’ll keep for a bit longer. [Vimeo]

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

I hope the renovations to the Towers themselves is well executed and that the UNESCO World Heritage nomination has been taken into consideration. It’d be a terrific honor to have a Kuwaiti landmark on the list, especially something as emblematic as the Kuwait Towers.

On a larger scale, I hope this spurs Kuwait’s planning authorities to revitalize and facelift all of Kuwait City – greening the streets, bringing more life downtown, remedying traffic problems and making the entire city more lively and happening. With all the cultural projects coming up, I have a feeling that maybe we’re on the right track to something great.

Bringing life downtown and remedying traffic problems conflict 😛

Really though the govt. can only do so much, stuff you’re talking about is usually up to the people.

A nice RGB LED display, make the towers look really nice ! I was there yesterday and had to find out that the display on both towers started with a delay of about 25 minutes between the 2 towers ! The light on tower two, switches on much to late to do some good photography ! I would advise that the timers or sensors are set to early timings around prayer time, so the photographers and
video people get better, after sunset tower, images ! Good pictures sell well !
