Magazines Banned in Kuwait?

Bu Ziyad from q80economics emailed me to tell me that foreign magazines are currently banned from being imported into Kuwait. It seems a magazine slipped in with a revealing photo and so the sole distributor for foreign magazines in Kuwait is being punished by banning them from importing magazines. By punishing them everyone in Kuwait is getting punished as well. They are now hoping they will be allowed to resume the import of magazines again after Eid.

Personally I’m glad I have an iPad and the Zinio app so I don’t have to deal with issues like this.

Oh that’s just silly!
What was the unrevealing photo? A girl in a bikini?
Seriously, don’t they understand girls wear bikinis here at hotels?
We can flick to Fashion TV and watch models in lingerie ……..

Slowly but surely we are turning into KSA

Who reads paper magazines nowadays? They’re practically obsolete. The government needs to tear down the “Big Brother” themed Ministry of Information because it’s obsolete too. The guys blacking out women’s bodies in magazines need to retire and get a life.

More taboos more = more perverts…
Do they really think that people don’t know about anatomy? PUH_LEASE!!!!!
Maybe we need the “Erection coordinator” to deal with this issue 😉

I agree Babbleq8, we’re slowly turning into our neighbor down south!

Regarding Zinio, maybe I wasn’t looking in the right place (I thought I searched thoroughly), but didn’t find any of the following magazines:

Time
Newsweek
Economist
Hot Bike or any other Harley themed magazines.

babbleq8: ya we are turning into ksa and i dont care if they cross out women pictures wearing bikini on a normal magazine but crossing out pictures from vogue they are really out of their mind!!

Censorship? I see boobs on Show Movies all the time(Orbit Showtime), and damn straight kids have access to that since im sure most Kuwaitis have OSN on satellite.

Why cant they just allow this stuff in movies and magazines!??!

No wonder Kuwaiti young boys are running around chasing girls, cause they got no Playboy or Hustler to enjoy late at night…

Here we go again the next time they will bann the Internet they block web site each day it’s like when they do such thing ppl still can’t watch the sat or just use VPN enough for god sak

they mark out photos of wine bottles. what do you expect from them ? people should stop complaining and join the tea party next time they vote.

I really hope this is not true. I saw still a few European magazins in Virgin and in sultan centre in Salmiya (sorry guys but bought one of all !) I can’t believe Kuwait is going this way? Indeed like some others have said, you can see all sorts on OSN and not all censored! Good thing I am in Dubai at the moment only hope they will not take my magazine when I fly back!!!

O..M..G ….

I am so cool i have no problems looking at girls wearing bikinis and watching them prance around nude,,,

i AM SOOOOOO KEWWWLLLL

you guys who go around thinking ur so “open”

Grow a pair and look at whats happening to the world around you.

and have the dignity to not forget your heritage and religious believes

sorry (mark) ur labanees and i think with such a name ur a non muslim
so if u have problems with our censor ship then suck it up and order ur shit quietly. no need to show the world that u like to watch bewbs.

and to the guy that said thank god the it staff is not cleaver enough .. like omg ur the only cleaver being in this world AMIRIGHT ?

and for the people who are talking shit about KSA ,, ur not even fit to being like them (talking about the good religious people)

so at the end STFU. and learn what islam is all about,

I finally got my November issue National Geographic yesterday from Family Bookshop, Salmiya. Had to get the October issue from dubai. Have been collecting since 2000 and don’t want to break my collection. I guess the ban is lifted.
