Last week I posted about my problems with Qualitynet and since then they’ve contacted me a number of times to see how they can solve my problem. Tonight they finally sent over the head of corporate support with a small KD5,000 device to see if they can fix my problem.. and they did!
The picture above is the readout on the devices screen before he fixed it while the one below is after. They were able to double the speed my line can handle from 1.5MB to 3MB. So will I be leaving Qualitynet? No I won’t. They read my blog and they care that I stay happy which is fantastic for me.

how did they manage to drop 400 meters distance between the exchange and your modem?
I think that distance dropped once the quality of the line improved

CRAP! I completely forgot, if they offer you an upgrade anywhere close to 3MB don’t you dare take it. My line down rate is over 6000 and 5MB is having troubles, hopefully the jumper thing will fix the issue. Anyways you need extra breathing space, IE for 3MB your line had to handle 5MB and so forth. For 5MB my line should atleast handle 8MB, or thats what they tell me.

But I’m still leaving Qualitynet as soon as the contract ends. The connection breaks down too often.

I’m actually thinking of starting my own blog. Seems like you get much more customer care that way and end up getting atleast what you want 🙂
What about the people who doesn’t Blog .. to hell with them .. screw that kind of behavior .. a company that doesn’t equably treat it’s customers doesn’t deserve them in the first place !!
KEMS is the best in my opinion as long as they at least pick up the phone and try to solve the problem.

I had similar problems many times and the last time the connection was out for 2 days I kept hammering this customer support number with no answer, and then suddenly when the line was ringing the connection turned back and the lined got shut !
That was the end! after 10 loyal years to Qualitynet I cancelled my subscription and they never asked me why I’m cancelling!!!!!!!
Now I’m starting to be a loyal customer to Fast Telco, hoping they don’t screw too.

I’ve been with Qualitynet for a few years now and have had one problem so far which they fixed immediately. I went in to renew my connection once, and their staff addressed me as “Sir” and trust me, I’m in my 20s. So far their customer service has been great and I’ve been impressed.
I used to be with KEMs. Their connection was probably just as stable but customer service was horrible. I once got told “it is not our problem” when I called in to report an issue. I guess you have the bad apples in every company. Regardless, I contacted that person’s supervisor and complained. Not sure if he is still there or not.

Qnet’s speed and service are bad. I left them for similar reasons. Its sad that they only respond if they are ridiculed on a popular blog.
Well, all I can say about Qnet is they always play with bandwidth.
My advice go for FT / KEMS best ISP providers in Kuwait. I had 6 Mbps from them and I cancelled…

The question is: should responsible bloggers advocate for better service for everyone or just themselves?
I already contacted Fasttelco and told them briefly my problems with qualitynet…..they assured my can handle even 2MB, however they’ll check with their tecnical staff will contact me hopefully today…..sadlly my trust to qualitynet is gone……and I’m pretty sure that I’ll not using their services anymore…..hoping that some decision maker of qualitynet will put themself in my place…..feels the trauma i went through….then decide what it will take them to make the changes…….

last week you were trashing them, now you love them, obviously they will improve your service after you blog about how bad they are and 100,000 people read about it, if you want customer service to improve for everyone you should’ve left them even if they improved/fixed your problem so that they learn not to fuck with the people, provide a great service to begin with and not to ignore complaints
I have a 1MB connection which will expire in October, but since their summer offer finishes 31st August, I thought I’d renew and upgrade to 2MB. But I thought let me check with their tech support just in case if my land line cant handle 2MB since I heard lots of stories of lines that cannot. So after a lengthy on hold cheesy music, I speak to the guy and he asks me to give him my land line number. After a few minutes he tells me that the maximum my line can handle is 1MB only, and I am sure I asked him if there were any solutions for this, and he said the only thing I can do is wait for MOC or whoever to install fiber optic cables in my area! There was no 5KD solution nor did he offer someone to come over to my house.
In any case, I’m fine with 1MB, this will be my last year with them anyway, so it’s THEIR loss of money and I had extra cash to spoil myself with ;D

feb 2007 1mbps
feb 2008 2mbps
feb 2009 3 mbps
each for 1 year and I have been playing counter strike source online from the beginning and I noticed that my ping in the game gets worse and worse each time I upgrade my speed !
the only thing that gets better is the download speed, my ping on 512kbps was almost always 0-5 now on 3mbps its between 15-30 !
WTH man this is why I am very pissed at Quality net and its on their servers !
I hopefully will switch to Kems since they also have a server on Counter strike and they have lowered their prices down to 50% I don’t know if that is still on thou =/ .

As I clearly stated in my post the only reason I am staying with them is because they read my blog and want to keep me happy. I am in no way encouraging anyone to sign up to Qualitynet nor am I trying to change anyones view on them. I already told them on a number of occasions that there were a ton of people having the same problems. I really hope Qualitynet assign someone to follow up on everyones problems here or they will be losing a lot of customers.
Call centers are alls bulls***. They don’t actually care if you get the service or not. Has anyone ever got the maximum down speeds. I think not! Till now i had to call up kems a couple of times just to get a decent speed. At least they are better than united networks but in my opinion they all suck! Does anyone know if they supply ‘optic fiber’ in Kuwait and where?
According to the support guy yesterday, Kuwaits infrastructure is ready for fiber optics and they’ve already installed it in some areas but their progress is very slow and it will take years before they get to your area.

I was a corporate customer of qualitynet before 2 years ago. we were using a fiber optic cable from the MOC to my server room for their Internet Service … and we were paying lumps of KD for their service. Some how my manager like qualitynet for some reason and I was forced to use their service
In every week/Day there internet was down and I have to call to there customer support..my biggest problem at that time to convince them they have an internet issue out there in there network, that they never accept to any one! There corporate support center is too bad too… I had a lot of funny stories with their technical support center … they don’t had any good technical guys at there corporate customer care center and they treated me as a home DSL user…
I had several complaints /tickets with them and we had several meetings with their management/technical team to solve their internet issues . In all the meeting they agreed with me that they will change their supporting outlook to their coporate customer. to make me happy they had given 2 MB free internet connection. But i was not able to use that free 2 MB internet and later I realized they don’t have any more bandwidth available in their network. And it was a big challenge for me to change them because I was using qualitynet fiber optics that time and my boss like qualitynet.
And later we have Switched to KEMS and after that I never had any problems. My internet was 100% up .
Their Customer support is very good too, I really impressed with them .

I have a 2Mbps connection from Quality Net
DSL speed tests sites like https://www.speedtest.net/ clock the download rate at 1.95mbps.
Although, this is the case the browsing speed is painstakingly slow.
Its like they have configured the speed test sites to work at blistering speeds, but everything else sucks.
Quality net customer support is even worse they have standard statements “please restart your router” , ” everything is fine from our side”
I have been a customer of Quality Net for almost 6 years now, but I am sad to say that my next renewal will NOT BE WITH THEM.
Wow I had the exact issue like u also. I would download torrents at 200kb but when it came to browsing it was very slow even when I wasn’t downloading anything. but, after yesterday, pages now load instantly, literally!

you do know that we all don’t have blogs that ISP’s can read and fix our problems, i have had problems with my line not being able to support what i paid for, and quiet frankly no one gives a shit.
My experience with Qualitynet was terrible when I was living in Jabriya, now that I moved to South Surra, my connection is always up and stable due to the fiber optic connectivity.
I do agree that their call center is crap though!

@Mr.pedro.. this is how all business work in Kuwait. If you don’t have big last name or don’t bring them lots of $$$ from a single transaction then you can f*** ur self with a stick.. thats how much they care about the consumer.
Problem is there is no Watch Dog in Kuwait to follow up on businesses in Kuwait. Sadly, the same people firing workers at banks, are the same people who own the company you bought your car from, the same people who you get internet conenction from… and the same people who control our parliament.

I’m paying for a 2MB connection mainly for online gaming but the connection is crap, I opened ticket after ticket until I lost all hope and accepted the fact that QL connection won’t get better.
I don’t know if its because they improved my phone line quality or if its something from their side. I know he did do something from their side for sure which sped up my dsl connection time (from power off) but dropped the max attainable speed from 3500k to around 3400k

As for me, i’m happy with my Viva 3G connection

Look people — they don’t care about your blog or your complaints. The absolute worst and I mean this literally … worst treatment I have ever had at the hands of any ISP is that which I got from QualityNET.
We are one of their oldest and most expensive contracts (this according to their head of corporate sales), yet their service to us is the same as if I was a dialup customer.
The last month, these are their excuses in order:
1. Router needs to be upgraded — emergency upgrade.
2. Problem at ministry.
3. Your Cisco modem needs to be reset.
4. No issue from our side.
5. ‘Cable cut’ – ie, the standard “we don’t know wtf is going on” answer.
Their “engineers” that they send over to our office to fiddle with the modem are such a joke. Just ask anyone of them a simple networking questions that a person who just cracked open a “IP Network for Dummies” book would know.
Seriously can’t wait to take my business elsewhere. Good riddance.

All of us here were OFFENDED by your clear unequal treatment of your customers. If you did this pathetic stunt to get approval then the jokes on you, it has reversed and we now hate you even more.

many factors could affect your connection as many factors could affect your mood ! FACT : humans always likes to blame others ,
FACT :Most humans likes to show knowledge and understanding of technology , and because of that , for them everybody is a joke and them only them are the goddess of technology and they always know better.
And Burhan , yes you sound like a Dial up customer ! because there is no such thing as Cisco Modem !!!! it is called a Cisco router , from what it sound , your talking about a corporate connection !! unless you are using a Linksys Modem and you think its a Cisco thing !!
this is another issue , IT Administrators who dosent know much about basic fundimental technology , likes to blame others usualy for thier own mistake mostly ! and again , Technology Goddess !
i would strongly suggest to visit howstuffworks.com and learn how DSL works , so you can educate yourselves on all of the factors that affects your connection !!

Oh god i am so glad to see that i’m not the only one having problems with qualitynet.
They are by any standards the most pathetic networking company i have seen in many years; granted i’m only 18 years old, but nevertheless, they have no quality in their services whatsoever, Which to some may seem very ironic that a networking company named “qualitynet” has probably the worst quality service in Kuwait.
I cannot even begin to think how many times we have called them to complain and it’s always the same answer “Don’t worry by the end of the day (or end of the week) your internet will be as good as new”! A load of rubbish i tell ya. As soon as my subscription ends i am going to KEMS, and to the poster above me, your argument plot holes in so many countless ways that i do not have the time to close every door you attempt to open with a failure of a premise that is supported by a lack of evidence.
Qualitynet suck! i hate their “technical support” that incompetent department doesn’t know the in’s or outs of how to troubleshoot. My entire family switched to Fast Telco and we’re never going to look back!
