I was going to buy it today then a friend told me wait next shipment will have Arabic keyboard again he called me today and said its not going to happen! so ill buy this thing Saturday from Barak Center but before that i have to find a friend with MTC eezee to get the extra 5% discount!

The OS sony ericsson uses is entirely different from Nokia, and is owned and developed by SE themselves. It also never officially supported arabic.

I got the P990 when it was released and hated it ever since. Saw this one in the shop yesterday and picked it up. It’s fixed a lot of the problems the 990 had and generally looks, handles and feels a lot better.
Sony ericsson could have added a row of buttons for call answering / disconnecting, but i’ve quickly grown used to the mechanisms.
The keyboard worried me a bit at first, and while i’m still not 100% used to it, i’m typing much faster so far than i have before on a phone. it’s particularly helpful for repetitive letters, such as http://www... since you don’t have to wait to enter the next letter.
I would recommend this phone. It may take a little getting used to, but i think it’ll be worth it.
Also, this phone displays arabic text, both in websites and in messages, unlike previous phones in the series.

it does come with built-in arab reader and an arabic virtual keyboard.
and for those whom want it with a fully arabic menu a new software will be released sometime this year so I’ve been told.

As for the GPS it come with a trial version of Wayfinder 7 which uses the internet to activate the map not sattelite, and it also has limitations as it only have the main roads in kuwait such as the ring roads, istiqlal street, Fhaheel, and very few other sub roads.

I’ve been told at Al Barrak that they will open a new Office at Behbehani complex to serve only P1i costumers, they will answer any question about the device and will help with any inquiry from it’s owners.

Saw in Thursday’s Kuwait times that Eureka is selling them for KD114.5 cash so the price seems to be very competitive now.

Retract my previous report of this phone for KD114.5 cash. Went down to Eureka today to buy at this price but they made a mistake in advertising it for KD114.5 in the paper. Their actual price is KD214.5. What a letdown after schlepping all the way out there!!
