Sticking to the plan

I spent nearly two months on a really strict diet and working out at Core Fitness 5 times a week trying to bring down my body fat percentage to 12% before I traveled to Lebanon and hit the beach. That didn’t happen (I blame Geneva) and I ended up at 13.6% which is still pretty cool just not what I wanted. I’ve now been in Lebanon for 5 days, I still haven’t gone to the beach and I also haven’t been able to hold my diet.

Whenever I travel I find it impossible to stick to my diet. The only way I actually stick to my diet in Kuwait is with routine, I know I am going to have eggs with turkey for breakfast, grilled chicken cutlets with grilled zucchini for lunch and turkey again for dinner. I don’t mind having the same thing every day but once I’m out of Kuwait I just can’t stick to that very simple plan. It’s been 5 days since I’ve been here and I think I’ve probably put on weight. Sucks.

BTW if you’re curious/nosy, I was 84.7KG when I first joined Core 2 years ago and I had a body fat percentage of 20%. My weight back in 2005 was 90.6KG.

been trying to lose those last 5-6% for the past 2yrs. am currently at 14%.

stubborn fat- i.e. the one around the hips and below the naval, sure is hard to get rid of.

if you ever reach your goal, let us know how you did it. weights only make it bigger and fatter.

Well weights increase the size of your muscles but not your fat. But burning the last bits of fat is the hardest but I think if I continued on my diet without cheating and riding my bike a few times a week I would have hit 12 easily. Going below 12 I have no idea how I could do that…

what i meant by saying weights make me bigger and fatter is that when I work out I eat 3000+ calories a day, which in the end goes into my belly.

and when I do cut out weights out of my routine, I go back to my previous body. its a never ending cycle.

gdluck.

Loose all Carbs from your diet. Your body will then ‘attack’ your fat tissues which means you will loose the weigt. Eat Red berries, low fat yoghurts/ meat fish etc but NO CARBS! You can even drink white wine ( no. Carbs in that :-)…) and i would think trying to get ur house sorted in Lebanon has you running around enough to conpensate the exercise… 😉
But i am with you, when abroad it is almost impossible to stick to a diet.
Good luck

Your 74kg with 10kg of fat, then to be at 10%bf u need to lose 3kg of fat and u will probably lose 1kg of muscle in the presses so u will weigh 70 kg at 10% bf with 7kg of fat. But then you’ll be very thin for your hight.
