Strange Octagon Compound

UPDATE: Never mind turned out it’s in Saudi Arabia! Don’t know how I missed that minor detail! Also turned out to be the King Khalid Military City. Pretty cool.

Does anyone know what this strange middle of nowhere octagon compound is? It’s located right in the middle of the Kuwaiti desert and it looks huge. The more you zoom in the more you realize how many buildings there and a ton of parking spaces. I’m thinking military but it seems too big to be just that.

You can check it out yourself on Google Maps [Here]
Don’t forget to zoom in!

Mark, this is in the Saudi desert near Hafr al Batin. Guess it must be an oil industry huge compound with residential as well as office buildings and other facilities.

found the video first, then plugged in the coordinates from the video and ended at the compound. I zoomed out to see where in kuwait it was and someone thought it was west of bnaider in the middle of the desert.

run mark, you know too much, they are coming to get you πŸ˜› the Saudi response to the U.S Pentagon? haha classy πŸ˜›

I used to work there in the 80s. KKMC was built to house 70000 troops. On the inside of the octagon are tower blocks for junior ranks, as you go to the outer parts the buildings get lower until on the outside there are villas to house the officers. The place is massive, it even produces its own power. In the first Gulf war most of the armoured divisions on the way to Kuwait staged there. Iraq even tried to hit the place with a SCUD but hit the local town (Hatr Al Batin) instead.
