This video was shot around a month or a month and a half ago but was just uploaded yesterday. Supposedly the plane ran into very heavy turbulence which resulted in everything flying around and a person getting burnt by boiling water. [YouTube]
Thanks KA FAN!

Kuwait airways??
It is amazing how every one is so quiet ,, I think that they were still under shock when that recording were taking place!!!
Kuwait airways fail!
OMG people stop being so cynical towards Kuwait Airways. SO WHAT if it was Kuwait Airways? You can’t blame an unusual act of nature (heavy winds most likely) on a damn airline company. So stop going “Kuwait Airways? Kuwait Airways?” because it does not ****** matter!
i have to agree to since I doubt turbulence can be blamed on Kuwait Airways.
Lol, of course it’s not KU’s fault. All aircraft flying in that particular low pressure area would have felt the same.
@HiMyNameisFred
Doesn’t fu#$%^# matter you flying on a airline company that their own planes needed a maintenance while the were never done until this time? plus their pilots has stated that they’re not responsible for any damages or crashes?
if yes, go ahead, enjoy their flight and don’t forget to keep a lifesaver jacket just in case, if no, then stop covering their ass.
This could happen to any plane
JEWISH CONSPIRACY
Who was blaming Kuwait Airways? The post is just a youtube video of what happened ON a Kuwait Airways flight, why is everyone getting all defensive? Damn.
Yeah, i always see burned faces people at most of the aiports, that makes sense then
the one who upload it in youtube says its kuwait airways plane , but it seems not .
Thanks
Love kuwait Airways (*_*) i really do
does any one travel to indiansubcontinent
via kuwait airways at least they sucks
in this sector
o:55….the captain’s wings has the Kuwaiti flag.
srsly mark can u stop scaring ppl for no reason and stop posting stuff like this :/
ur site would still be numero uno even if u dont post stuff like this =].
Yes they are to blame…
It’s obvious the plane’s turbulence detection system failed due to lack of Maintanance!!!
The usual story!!
I don’t know what happened, I don’t know if Kuwait Airways is to blame, I don’t know what systems detect turbulence, I don’t know how to fly a plane. I don’t know many things, but I do know this. I would have shat myself if I was on that plane.
Note to self: Never order hot tea/coffee/soup when flying
@Sfsa78:
There is no such thing as a “turbulence detection system”, LoL!
😀
@Spiderguy252
How do you know that ?
then it must be the pilots themselves, they aren’t trained enough to handle a plane!
Seriously you guys?
Turbulence can’t always be avoided. Before making random judgements and ignorant claims, read up on the topic. I’ll help you out:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clear_air_turbulence
I’ll make it even easier for you and put up some quotes:
“Clear-air turbulence is impossible to detect with the naked eye and very difficult to detect with conventional radar[2], meaning that it is difficult to avoid.”
“This kind of turbulence creates a hazard for air navigation. Because aircraft move so quickly, they experience sudden unexpected accelerations or ‘bumps’ as they rapidly cross invisible bodies of air which are moving vertically at many different speeds.”
So unless the pilot of the plane is Superman, then there’s no way you can avoid turbulence. If you want to blame someone for turbulence, blame the atmosphere, not KA.
it’s their fault . they should fly on certain altitude to avoid getting in heavy turblence area , not to mention that their plane is equipped with devices that measuers turbelence
Glad you found this interesting too :O) Ditto Patrick this time it’s not Kuwait AIrways fault..
Kuwait Airways or not, but the main concern is
How on earth the guy with cam got access to cockpit?
According to my understanding it´s a major safety/security fraud that has been introduced on this video. No-one, except the crew, in any circumstance should have the access to cockpit!
It’s true this is an act of nature, but the poor guy who got burned should be compensated, and if there is any neglegance on the part of the crew, he could sue IMO.
That IS a Kuwait Airways aircraft. Any idea what sector it was?
“Oooo look at that tray, from where to where”
1.
Pilots don’t just choose on which altitudes they fly, air-skies are a very complex network on highways organized by the relevant country’s Tower.
2.
Maybe, if anything the pilots could have warned the passengers of potential air-turbulence
3.
after experiencing such a devastating situation (life changing to some) the crew should have urged passengers to stay seated and fasten their seat belts and not walk around taking videos where another episode might occur.
4.
I think the guy taking the video is from the crew, + plus cell phone shouldn’t be switched on.
All right, got some info:
Aircraft involved: 9K-ALB
Airbus A310-300
It was flying BOM-KWI and hit turbulence somewhere over Gujarat.
Date: January 2010
I thought the cockpit door should not be opened during flights?
Wow I can’t believe the number of ignorant posts on this thread:
“They broke the turbulence detector!”
“It was the pilot’s fault”
“They didn’t pick the right altitude”
WTF. If you don’t have anything intelligent to say, then please don’t post.
As a person who has done pilot training, I can tell you turbulence is not something you can avoid because it is something you CANNOT DETECT. Pilots flying ahead of you on the same airway give condition reports to the tower, and these include turbulence experienced. If no one else is flying your route, then unless you have magical powers, you cannot detect turbulence.
Weather radar on the aircraft detects just that weather, turbulence is not weather.
Cockpit doors are restricted to flight crews only. However, since Kuwait Airways gives preferential treatments to Kuwaitis, it could be possible that this person managed to get into the cockpit that way. Cockpit access is strictly restricted, it has always been that way.
Most of the new rules you hear about on the news apply only to those commercial flights that are in/out of US airspace.
BOM-KWI goes over some hellish storm areas, I would assume this happened during the monsoon seasons.
Anyway, turbulence is not the fault of the airline or the pilot or the plane. Its just something that happens in nature. The smaller the aircraft, the more you get “bounced around”, but turbulence affects everything from a Cessna 152 to the 747.
Nope, January is not monsoon season. It was just a low pressure area in the Arabian Sea, off the coast of Gujarat. It was closer to Oman than India, I suppose.
burhan i hope you accept other people opinion it’s not a war zone !
nature to blame!
I saw the extended video. The person whose taking the video is one of the crew. In fact, he’s the captain of the plane.
i just traveled on the bom-Kwi sector by Kuwait airways,and they are the worst i have ever traveled in.Late by 2 hours and i had to ask for water 4 times ,and finally when i received water ,they gave me hot water.Nothing works on that plane ,including the steward call button on the seat.Dont even ask about the entertainment system
I hope it was the same stewards who refused me water.i had cursed them didn’t know god listened.
Budget airliners like Indian,IndiGO,Deccan,Jet Airways lite,KingFisher Red ,Go Air all seem as luxury airlines when compared to Kuwait airways.
It is only a matter of time before something happens,this is just crazy.
Anybody has a death wish should travel by KA
@ Burhan.Mmm.”KA gives preferential treatment to Kuwaities”.You say that like there’s nothing wrong or unproffessional about it.So if some suicidal Kuwaiti tries to overthrow the cockpit crew?.No problem.Right?No wonder people complain about KA all the time.
I always seem to be on a flight with turbulence when I start drinking my tea or coffee.
However, normally the Captain does point out that they are expecting turbulence.
I often get annoyed with cabin crew who continue to serve food and drinks in these conditions, I am surprised not more people get burned.
This happened because of the passengers who came standing….there was a balance shift!!!!
Next time a cabin crew treats you bad, learn to report it !
note her name on the name tag and send an email.
No Compromise to Safety!
and service!
JUST IN.
BREAKING NEWS: Reason for that massive turbulence was someone who let out a loud one in the plane toilet after having Kuwait Airways “Biryani”.
Moral of the Story: Kuwait Airways IS to be blamed.
@Crew:
You’re right, but Arab airlines have traditionally been more preferential towards their own countrymen. I actually find this strange…..because this doesn’t happen anywhere else. South East Asian airlines don’t prefer S.E. Asian customers, European airlines don’t prefer European customers, you’ll never see Lufthansa doling out preferential treatment to a Russian, will you? But KU does. Look where LH is and look where KU is.
Hope I got the point across.
“Lufthansa doling out preferential treatment to a Russian”
Lufthansa is German.
@kuwait
Whats a Russian doing on a German airline anyway ???
I know but Arab airlines treat all Arabs better than other nationalities anyway.
@daggero: ???
umm no, KA does NOT treat all kuwaiti’s a good treatment :@
It’s an act of God against a crappy airline.
I think Airbus A310-300 and similar size airplanes should be forced to retire or chopped up for scrap. When I was a kid I never experienced the severe turbulence I experience now! Maybe its due to global warming, I dunno. I do know that if a plane has been commissioned to fly for 10 or more years, it should be grounded.
Flying is the only fast and practical way of travel. It should be the safest as well. Ethiopia Air, Air Arabia, Egypt Air all claimed lives because the planes were old and small. Enough negligence.
It might be that they are filming for insurance claim. were was their heading ?
Whouw..that looks hectic
