Superdry Marina

The Superdry store in Marina Mall is now open in place of Diesel. I’ve noticed both the Marina Mall and Avenues branches of Superdry are always pretty empty when I pass by. I’m guessing no one knows Superdry in Kuwait…

Every time I think of shopping in the avenues branch i find it too crowded and end up not buying anything! Pass by it at 7 on you’ll see what I mean

the only thing that can be considered similar are their polos but other than that superdry actually have a larger range of clothes. they’ve got a huge collection of jackets for example as well as tshirts. their style is also a lot different from a&f, they’ve got a lot of vintage looking stuff for example.

Is Superdry an European, East Asian thing? I have seen celebrities on TFC(The Filipino Channel)wearing the t-shirts.

They’re British; this is what it says on their site:

“Inspired by a trip to Tokyo in 2003, Superdry fuses design influences from Japanese graphics and vintage Americana, with the values of British tailoring.”

Errrr superdry is not expensive. Especially when you compare it to some other brand names. I love their clothes and until yesterday while shopping at marina I didn’t know they had it in Kuwait.

Which brand names? They’re expensive for what they’re selling, you can’t compare them to Italian and French brands obviously

Im glad no one goes there! So they start the sales!!!! Its really expensive but im in love with their stuff! I wanna grab everything and run! But so expensive man!!!!

The thing is with Superdry is its Supertight their stuff is nice bu not good when the majority is not slim or athletic

I went to the shop yesterday, and i hated it. It’s too commercialized! Every single shirt and hoodie has the brand name printed largely. It’s like: “Hey I’m SUPERDRY. You can’t avoid not seeing me.” I don’t like shirts commercialized to the extreme, and this brand just took it way over the top.

Superdry in the Uk T-shirts are KD10 plus vat and u can ask for tax free duty free from the airport.
How much are they here ? And kuwait don’t have tax in retail so realistically it should be cheaper than KD10

“realistically it should be cheaper than KD10” It doesn’t work that way, they buy it from the supplier so they pay tax anyway + the shipping costs and they have to raise the price a lot to break even.

They buy it from the supplier but they dont pay tax in the uk when it arrives in kuwait they pay 5% tax for example they buy from a supplier t-shirt for £5 plus 5% tax plus shipping cost it still not reach KD10… I realized in kuwait if something says £20 they will do it KD20 and the british tag is still on it … I have seen in debenhams and m&s when they first opened $#%$ ripp off … some poor kuwaitis dont understand they really think its worth KD20.

SHOPPING IN KUWAIT IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE UK.

and the UK is an expensive country plus where the tax is 20% now.

Only CO-OPs, Concrete and Petrol is ok in kuwait

Hey bro, taxes arent paid on exporting, bcs country wants to encourage that. I dont c any additional costs, infact they should be cheaper, all clothing should not have the extravagant cost push inflation since logistically its cheaper to transport the product from its’ source (that being were it was made: malaysia, thailand or wherever).

But to the other dude asking, kuwait has higher prices simply because of wage inflation, therefore ppl have alot of disposable income which is realised by other companies like retailera and so they raise the prices to take advantage! But not to worry because all of this is supported by a surplus in export. 😀

Took economics and im actually using my understanding!! Can anyone please correct me if i am wrong in my perception?

I know SuperDry but personally I find it pretty boring and not so special. My husband agrees with me.

Now A&F would be another story of they opened here. They should have gotten that franchise.
