That’s NOT TRUE.
The 99 title comes from the 99 names of Allah (ุณุจุญุงูู ) as each character is named after Allah’s (ุณุจุญุงูู ) names.
Its irritating how they have to twist everything back to 9/11.

So this is why he left us and our community med research… to meet Obama?

mashallah naif is just great and inspirational. .
I was there at P2BK last month and saw his Booth..i was amazed cause i always loved Manga >Japanese comics..so i approached to their booth and asks some questions and they gave me their 99 Comic for free in english..(they have both arabic and english version
The charachters they have are from alternative countries from North US and south to Europe, Middle East, South Asia and Australia ;D
I’ve been picking up his comics from the airport whenever I’m there. I was at the P2BK booth too and I asked him how they were doing. They’re one of the most popular comic books in china and the far east and have reached all the way to the west, and still, here in kuwait the copy is for free and not a lot of people read it. Only a handful know about it.
I think the best way of support the innovative Dr Naif is to actually purchase his comics and show him as a nation that we believe in him, rather than just patting his back with words.
no offence – but as a real comic book reader -the 99 is pretty crap! It’s not even close competition to ‘real’ comic books. Most of you guys are thinking its amazing but havent even read the books. It is however very representative of its source… loud, brash, superficially fancy and therefore internationally recognisable – but with close to zero substance.
