The best kebab sandwiches

Since on Friday I didn’t cheat the way I wanted to I decided I would sneak in 1 kebab sandwich from Dandosh after my gym yesterday (don’t tell Fahad) based on the recommendations of some readers. I made sure I carried only 500 fils with me since I wanted to control my intake and 500 fils would buy me just one sandwich which costs 300 fils. I ordered my kebab with just tahina and fries and started eating it. It tasted like every other kebab I’ve had and was actually kind of let down. Then suddenly the aftertaste kicked in, wow what a shocker. I don’t know what’s in the sandwich but the aftertaste is just incredible. It has a slight tingling sensation since it’s kinda spicy but not too much and for some reason this tingling sensation kicks in around a minute after finishing the sandwich. Since I only had 200 fils left I checked to see if I had any change in my car and I found exactly 400 fils. So I went back and ended up eating two more sandwiches. I think they have the best kebab sandwiches in Kuwait, I left after 3 sandwiches still wanting more… or maybe it’s because I’ve been deprived from this kind of food for too long. Here is Dandosh on [Google Maps]

am i right or what? 😀 haha told you it was the best kebab sandwiches in the country:D glad you enjoyed it 😉

I tried the Mexican shawarma the other night. it was ok, but I won’t order it again. It really didn’t taste like shawarma, more like a chicken sandwich made with spices and a sauce other than mayo.

I’m done with trying to find good shawarma in kwt… I passed by mais al-reem, which is supposed to have really great meat ones, but it turned out they closed down 🙁

There’s a good kabab sandwich guy, in shuwaikh co-op. You probably have heard abt him. His sandwiches are good, thought u have to wait 10-20 mins for them.

There is a ton of good shawerma in Kuwait. Have you tried the villa fayrouz express shawerma? It’s a different style from places like badar al badoor and Dandosh, better quality and more Lebaneseish kind of shawerma.

And I was on my way to this place, got a call from my place and had to reach home for some emergency.

sorry mark but did not like the chicken quality. as for the spices, it is the normal sujuk spices added to the chicken.

yeah ,, tell him full double kabab with round potato !
it gonna be two kbabs + tuhena + round cut potato + spicy sauce .. but gonna warn you ,, it’s highly addictive ,, and if there’s tooo much tuhena ,,the spicy sauce gonna leak out of the sandwich !
btw .. in the same area but near the co-op ,, there’s al-tabab ,, i think they have good kbabs too ,,

Hahah told ya man, told ya!

When you are back to your non-diet regime, maybe we can organize Kuwait’s first ever “Shawerma Crawl” (like a Pub crawl).. know what I’m sayin?!

mark i really think u should try tabab its the best believe me tell him with sha6a its delicious, if u dont knw where it is, its next to the old flex they have double kabab too but i never liked it cuz its just alot of meat in one sandwich but u should give it a try

Mark, two posts about Dandoosh in two weeks and you have earned yourself Shawerma(s)/Kebab(s) for life…

Always passed right by Dandosh without a second glance to head to Badar Al Badoor by default. This time I’ll be having a kabab sandwich from a new place 🙂

Looool at the 500 fils trick! It’s so funny how you completely disregarded the fact that you needed to control your intake!

It’s just magical how you found another 200 fils in the car for not another one, but two more hehehe

(attentiond FAHAD lol)

Badar Al Badoor…. that’s the one i was talking about the other day…

I’ve had kebab sandwiches in Al tabab and Also dandosh… but that was before i tried in Badar Al Badoor… I think Badar Al Badoor wins the competition hands down… their Kebabs are amazing…

but since mark’s been talking about Dandosh.. im gonna go there today after work.. and order the Double Kebab Sinful eye’s is talking bout….

can’t wait… time pass by….grrrr

+1
been their last thursday… this is the place where they grill your kebab on high fire, maybe that’s the secret of being juicy… lol

btw, have you tried their (marinated?) chicken shawarma? 😛

yeah ,, that’s the place .. bon appetit ;P
and if u passed there in the morning ,,i mean Tabab ,, and u want something light ,, try there labna with round potato and salad ,, with a lil bit of extra salt ,, it’s kinda takes you from sour to sweet to salty a bit ,,

Just came back after having kebab sandwich from all the three places, will rate dandosh the best than tabab and then badar al badoor. There is not much of a difference though. Thanks mark i am loving it, will try their shawarmas next week and post accordingly.
