The fingerprint device

Yesterday there was an article in Arab Times about how the Ministry of Interior will start taking fingerprints of all incoming and outgoing passengers. Well it seems this is going to happen very soon since the fingerprint devices have already been installed at the airport. I took the picture above last night when I arrived to Kuwait, not sure why they don’t use the scanning device that was installed back in 2008 (pictured below) but never put into operation. [Article]

hmmm
in my first job i was excused from using the finger prints sing in system because no matter how many times did they try to scan my finger prints, it just wouldn’t scan or something… once twice a week a month passed by until they gave up!

I hope i don’t run into the same problem as i am going out of Kuwait or coming in because of my freaky finger prints!!!

In Dubai they use the eye scanner. Dubai always 10 steps a head of us so I guess we will stick with the broken finger print whatever. The devise looks old. But hope it works out. I know people who get in and out several time with diff passports… And they are under arrest in Kuwait. The finger scanner thingi will limit that.. To some extent.

Sometimes outbound passenger is banned from coming back to Kuwait but they manage to come back using a different passport.

Kuwait, not sure why they don’t use the scanning device that was installed back in 2008

I lol’led at this ….. Uv spent nearly twenty yrs if not more in kuwait and u still ask these sort of questions

I came in from the UK this morning and they scanned my right index finger. Quick and without any delaying the entry.

Money buys all the equipment and %(percentage) to their approvers, get obsolete before they get into intended action, approver changes/transfers again a new equipment .All a show off business and misuse

It is already in place, my right index finger was scanned on Monday, took an extra 20 seconds, no worries

Why do they have to fingerprint anyone at all?
Good old Kuwait what they need to do is invest in the infrastructure invest in it’s labour force invest in the young kuwaitis getting in to the private sector more easily and what do we get? Scanners that the Saudis have Bren using for years and making it more difficult for normal decent people to conduct business and investment!

Well, finally we could a new technology service in the airport.
UK followed this procedure for years, and this could define the people who import and export the country.

I have seen even in African countries they have this system, but Kuwait….better late then never.

I was in Dubai for 3 days and upon my arrival back to Kuwait on March 19th, I had to scan my finger upon entry. So it is already in use. It was a 3 seconds job. No delay.
