There are only a few more days left before the book fair is over so I dropped by yesterday to check it out. Not sure if its only me, but the book fair felt smaller than the previous years, at least when it came to English books. There just didn’t seem to be as many English booksellers as the previous years and even the large Arabic publisher’s exhibits seemed smaller than the previous years.
But, it’s still worth passing by and checking out. For more information on the book fair click here.

Unfortunately the book fair not like before at all and very expensive, and by the way Jarir has a discount till 50 %, for example, I found a book in the fair ground 5 kd but in jarir 3.5 kd ! same book.
Are there discounts/ deals available on the books?
yeah some booths have discounts, the one i bought from had buy 3 get 1 free
Checking it out this weekend! Though not sure if I’m gonna buy much (or any at all) bought a Tom last year and just read 2 lol
Based on the pictures I’ve seen, it looks like they have quite a large selection of English books, and I’ve never seen publisher-specific booths like these before.
Publishers have specific booths every year just this year they all seem smaller and the English books section a lot smaller (like half size)
Because if the increased number of publishers , they had to downsize everyone space.
I went last weekend, also felt that the English selection was small, and primarily focused on children and young adults.
Having a book fair in Kuwait is bit of a farce what with draconian censorship laws and the public’s apathy toward books and reading, in general.
