Movies & TV Shows to Watch this Weekend

I watched Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes this past week and I didn’t really like it much. I also just realized that I hadn’t I watched the previous Planet of the Apes but thats not why I didn’t enjoy the new one, I just find the series boring now. There are just too many Planet of the Apes films similar to how there are too many Fast and the Furious or too many Transformers movies. I don’t enjoy any of them anymore, it’s just recycled content.

But, speaking of recycling, the new Terminator anime series looks like it’s going to be cool just based on the trailer above. I’m not big on anime but this is one I want to really watch.

This past week I also started rewatching House of Cards since my wife hadn’t watch the show before. I’m still 4 episodes into season 1 and I remembered how great a show it was. Over a decade later it still holds up really well and I now recognize so many actors who are now much more famous than they were back then.

Let me know in the comments what you recently watched or planning to watch.

The Korean series The Whirlwind is good. Watched the Horizon American Saga 1 last night. Didn’t impress me so much as his westerns before.

Just found “The Night Agent” on Netflix which has been compulsive viewing. Very well written and binge watched episodes 1-6 of 10 yesterday evening. I definitely recommend it.

Also enjoyed the latest season of American Barbecue Showdown, again on Netflix.

I’m sorry to crash this post, (but it’s somewhat related). I have US iTunes account, and happily buy the cards locally from Xcite. However when I changed my account to family account it keeps asking for US credit card (just to prove I’m an adult and can create family and child accounts). How can I get a prepaid US credit card, as a non US citizen or resident?

you need to go to the US and get a credit card from a bank there, thats what I did.

but, I didn’t need a US credit card to switch my subscription to a family account and my apple account is US.

Initially I didn’t either, until my kid turned 6 and got an iPad. To be able to setup a child account in family you have to prove that you are an adult and somehow they only do that with a US credit card. Traveling to the US and getting a card from there is one solution, but I’d rather try to find something online.

Do any Kuwaiti banks have US branches and offer a US card? I remember a while ago there was something called an Internet Shopping Card (or something like that) from one of the banks (can’t remember) that emulated a US card. Does this still exist?

I’ve never heard of a local bank issuing US based credit cards and I’ve tried previously getting a US credit card from a US bank online and wasn’t able to find a place that did that either without requiring a social security number.

I started rewatching Breaking Bad. I forgot how funny the show is.

Movies I watched:
– 28 days later (2002)
– 28 weeks later (2007)
– Megalomaniac (2022)
– PlayTime (1967)
– Late Night with the Devil (2023) bad movie
– Bringing Out the Dead (1999)
– The Frozen Ground (2013)
– The Death of Mr. Lazaresc (2005)
– Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part Three (2024)
– You Won’t Be Alone (2022)

I’ve been meaning to watch 28 days later (and all the sequels) ever since they came out. 22 years later and I still haven’t watched any of em lol

The Bear (Tv series, season 3 is out, very very good show) OSN
House of the dragon (Good but nothing compared to GoT) OSN
The Boys (new season is quite bad but the first 3 were great) Prime

Every movie I’ve watched in the cinema here lately has been very disappointing.

Mark,

This is completely off the topic.

Found a site. 3AM

3AM Innovations out of Buffalo.

Curious tidbit.

Totally agree.
There aren’t many good movies these days. It’s mostly a flood of movies that start with the first film in a series, but the subsequent ones aren’t as good as the original.
There are also low-production movies featuring old movie stars who need work, so they join these lesser-quality productions.
The same applies to series.
Take ‘The Acolyte’ as an example—a shame for the Star Wars series after ‘The Mandalorian,’ ‘Andor,’ ‘Obi-Wan,’ and ‘The Book of Boba Fett.’
The latest season of ‘The Boys’ wasn’t that good, though.
In conclusion, franchises like ‘Planet of the Apes’ and ‘Godzilla’ are often based on one or two strong movies from the series, while the rest feel like mere copies

Last Planet of the Apes trilogy was great, and what do you mean there’s too many?? This is the first new one since 2017! 😂

As for recently watched, I watched like half of Dune: Part Two and it was really good, better than the first movie imo, but I didn’t have time to finish it.

Only things I finished watching was the first ep of Pennyworth, and it was fine, but it was a bit long, and the first ep of Doom Patrol S2, which was really good, as this is a great show.
