Movies & TV Shows to Watch this Weekend

It’s been a slow TV and movie week for me. Other than starting season 2 of House of Cards, catching up on the latest House of the Dragons and season finale for The Kardashians, the only other thing I watched this week was the old movie Prozac Nation.

I’m traveling in a couple of weeks so need to start saving shows for the plane ride. I was also planning to watch Deadpool this week but heard there were over 10 scenes cut so decided I’m either going to watch it when I travel, or once it’s out to rent. Not gonna watch a movie cut that much no matter how minor the cuts are.

Let me know in the comments what you recently watched or planning to watch.

tv shows:
Lady in the Lake (2024) I love the music.
Snowpiercer season 4, episode 1 was slow but it picks up in the 2nd episode.
and I can’t wait for Industry season 3 next Monday

movies I watched:
The Burning Sea (2021)
Cache (2005)
The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015)
Is Now a Good Time (2024) short movie
Angel Heart (1987) a great noir
Sting (2024) was fun
The Abandon (2022)

Have you noticed the cinematography in Angel Heart? It’s one of the most stunning examples of cinematography in film history.

Shame that the only reason why people remember the film is because The Cosby Show’s Lisa Bonet was naked in it (and subsequently got fired from The Cosby Show because of it).

This week I was mostly traveling, but finished off watching:

– Reacher (Season 2)
– The Night Agent

I also felt myself drawn into watching “My mum your dad” (the UK version) – a dating reality show which was curiously watchable.

I also watched again “Quantum of Solace” which thanks to the editing department at Qatar Airlines had various continuity errors and plot jumps. Had I not watched the uncut version, it wouldn’t have been possible to follow much of the storyline.
