The Guardian have a pretty long article on Kuwaiti musician Fatima Al Qadiri who just launched a new album yesterday. Her new album is called ‘Asiatisch’ and from the songs I heard off it I didn’t really like any of them and I’m not the only one either. But, its still cool she’s doing what she’s doing and you can check out the article on her [Here]
Thanks Simon

What’s with the Guardian’s love affair with such a talent-less ‘artist’?
MONEY…..
Most Kuwaitis live in the Capital (Asimah), Hawalli and Farwainiya governorates
Only 40% of Kuwaitis live in Jahra/Ahmadi/Mubarak al-Kabeer governorates
this shows transformation of the Kuwaiti youth over the decade which makes Kuwaitis develop bad image. They were more loving, friendly and comforting when they stayed in the Gulf region, which now they are different.
lol what?
ummm yeah – what?!!? what does this music have to do with whether she is loving friendly or ‘comforting’?
O Allah,
Please Improve peoples reading and understanding ability.
Aimen.
i am not a success enemy , but for a basic standard musical prospective, that was a very low and tasteless piece of art …. i have a musical ear yet it did not get into me…there is no music genre would squeeze this kind of music in… in general i would encourage the Kuwaiti talents to keep what they are doing..
peace
Why does she have to “squeeze” her music into any genre ? What is wrong with experimenting ? I dont think she does this to please anyones ear.
She is somone who has the opportunity to try different angles and evolve in the process.
Yeah it’s not worth getting angry over. I can’t stand her music at all but good for her for getting international exposure.
LOL the correction at the bottom
“• This article was corrected on 5 May. The original headline said: ‘Me and my sister played Desert Strike as Saddam invaded.’ Desert Strike came out two years after the invasion. This has been corrected.”
:I At least get the story straight man
She got reviewed on pitchfork, and while I’m not the biggest fan of their reviews that’s still impressive.

Can’t comment on the music itself (haven’t checked it out).
I like her. I really liked the interview
