Tamara is a really good friend of mine and I have no idea why I never posted about her before. She’s a super talented musician and she just released her first music video for her upcoming EP, Dust Bathing. The animated music video has been shortlisted and won awards at different film festivals and was directed and animated by the talented Pablo Lozano. [YouTube]

This is legit..great song and video to match.
this is truly stellar
Wow… I knew she had an incredible voice but this displays a real level of artistry, I’m so proud of her!
First time you ever post about a local talent that is actually talented. Impressive!
Nice
She’s alright.. totally giving me the Lana Del Ray vibe.. we are the best at copying
So because you’re getting a “vibe” that means she’s copying Lana Del Ray? Can you find a Lana Del Ray song that this track is reminding you of and share it here?
We are the best at criticizing just to criticize.
I personally feel the video is great and you need to be a composer to appreciate the nuances. Its like staring at abstract art.
On another note, Mark? – take a chill pill and don’t take it personal my friend. This is a blog and you have a comments section where you expect – feedback. Now Mb did not post hate speech – so let it be. He’s entitled to his opinion and not yours.
Did you even read his comment? Accusing a musician of copying because of a vibe he felt is not hating for the sake of hating? And you’re absolutely wrong, I am entitled to my opinion as well, the commenting system isn’t one way, I’m also allowed to respond if I want to.
Agree and agree. There’s no excuse good enough to belittle and accuse one’s work as plagiarized without substance.
Awww Mark, sorry I hurt your feelings
Yeah figured, just your everyday troll
Search Lana del Ray on YouTube, hit play
Search Nancy Sinatra, Skeeter Davis, Julee Cruise and Peggy Lee on YouTube and hit play.
OMG they ALL sound like Lana Del Rey, but how can that be when they were singing their songs in the 50s and 60s?
Could it be that Lana Del Rey is copying them? OMG!
Ignorant people I swear.
There’s a difference between influence, vague similarity and copying Mb. Take a hike instead of wasting your time discrediting someone’s hard work and achievement. Its easy for anyone to criticize work without any contribution.
What are you talking about?
Lana Del Rey’s whole shtick is that she’s trying to imitate yesteryear divas like Peggy Lee, Nancy Sinatra and Marlene Dietrich.
Lana’s still a great artist though. Doesn’t matter if she’s essentially an amalgamation of all those singers.
I don’t think she sounds anything like LDR – and influence is always natural, so I’d say that if anything, there’s a splash of an LDR influence in there, along with other things. It’s fair to say that her music is new blues/syncopated and uncategorized. I don’t think at any point in her life she was like “Let me sit down and copy Lana Del Rey”.
this is incredible
