According to Arabian Business, Kuwait has introduced new legislation that will fine people for various offenses like KD250 for picking flowers, KD500 for littering and KD100 for smoking indoors. Now the part I found interesting was that a new police force division was also being established to specifically monitor these new rules. No way it is Kuwait , There are so many people who smoke in ministry office , even after requesting they didn’t stop.

I went to salmiya clinic last week.. the guy who gives out the token was smoking inside the cabin.. in a hospital!!!
they will enforce the law… YEAH RIGHT!!!

Can you imagine a cop running after someone about to pick a flower, cop with his hand on his gun: ‘Now ma’am step away from the flower, I don’t want to have to shoot you’ Good luck on the campaign, they can’t get people to stop grilling, right under the ‘no grilling’ sign and they think they can combat litter, smoking and flower picking?
LOL, Hope springs eternal. I used to watch the police smoke, standing just underneath the “Do Not Smoke” signs at the Kuwait Airport. They can pass all the laws they want, without equal enforcement, enforcement against all nationalities, including Kuwaitis, these laws mean nothing.
+1 I see traffic cops smoking on 5th ring road everyday morning.. they just stand their and smoke..
also, I’ve seen them smoking in their cop cars.. lol.

Kuwait has recently promulgated a new comprehensive Environmental Protection Law (No. 42 of 2014) which created “Environmental Police”

All I can say is that its about time! People smoke everywhere here and even in places they really shouldn’t! This includes hospitals and clinics.
Make abdulfatah the head of the new Environmental Police department and we are set for a good start.
Only if he can have his picture in the paper every day. I doubt he’s interested in posing for a picture with a dead flower and some cigarette butts.
Establishing an environmental police division is the biggest mistake… it is what will limit the implementation of the law.

If law gets implemented properly i will be very happy, specially for the smoking part…its like contributing to some part of global warming and destroying others lungs at cost of personal pleasure.
I usually notice many parents smoke in front of there kids in public places and play areas.
What i found amusing about this law is that smoking penalty is cheaper than plucking flowers and littering around.

Only if they could just put a few Sign Boards around Kuwait saying “Do not Litter” “Do not pick flowers” , which would not take millions of dinars to do!!!
