Kuwait Airways will have WiFi and GSM on flights soon

kuwait-airways

According to an article published on Interactive Travel, the new Kuwait Airways planes that will start arriving at the end of the year will allow you to use your mobile phone during flight as well as connect online via WiFi.

The airline has ordered five A330s and seven A320s, all of which will be line fitted with Mobile OnAir and Internet OnAir. The first A320 and first A330 will be delivered in December 2014 and May 2015.

If this actually happens I might start flying Kuwait Airways again. [Link]

Even if they hired Chippendale dancers to be stewards on their flights, I wouldn’t fly that airline.

Even the current A340’s and 777’s will be fully retrofitted and refurbished next year and will have new seatings and inflight entertainment plus WIFI + GSM

I flew on the 787 Dreamliner on Qatar Airways a while ago. They have WiFi on board, however it costs around $5 per 10mb.

and every fuckin’ person will start to use viber, whats app, skype and whatever they have to talk to their friends who are waiting them.i cannot even imagine how loud it is gonna be.i really do not understand why people are so addicted to their mobile phones and internet.i know people who are talking by phone at least 4-5 hours a day…

The “risks” everyone here is yapping about are only on board the creaky older aircraft.. the new ones should be fine, because they’re… um… new. So quit whining!

My issues with KAC are in the sad shape of its current fleet, its general upkeep, punctuality

Desert Girl just because you come from a bankrupt country where airplanes crash very often doesn’t mean its the same here.

Are you kidding me?? Wifi, Ok. GSM, no way. Can you imagine flying to NYC, and the lady next to you is talking on the phone for hours…

Keep in mind though, it’s like your calling internationally, so you’ll be pay roaming charges, and that’s nopt practical.

At least I think that’s how it is.

Definitely, Looking forward to the New Flights….

Though, Not so thrilled about the Wifi & Mobile on board.
Don’t want the Pilots and the Flight Crew to get busy with their devices.

guys, kuwait airways isn’t the first airline to introduce wifi or gsm onboard. Wataniya Airways had gsm onboard and i don’t recall seeing anyone ever using their phone. It’s not like the prices are cheap you would have to pay roaming charges when using the phone in the air. wifi on the other hand is available on a lot of international flights like lufthansa and turkish airways, prices range but they’re usually affordable and a good way to entertain yourself while in the air.

I thought Mark avoided Kuwait Airways as in his previous blogs he said he would never fly with this airline.now where did that sudden love for KAC come from ?,just because of WIFI. and now every body will slowly start talking good about this airline even those who never flew with it or know their history but just because everyone is doing it.

did anyone notice the new livery on the plane in the source foto ?? is that really the new design or just computer generated ??

I’ve always loved KA and looked forward till they solved their internal issues and finally made a push to try and bring back the airline we all remember as kids, the one that was one of the top in the ME at least…

This is very exciting even though it’s so late, but I do hope the new planes and fleet revitalization come with a fresh new design, think it’s about time!!

Hamdallah Ku is one of the world safest airlines yes one of the world safest airlines! Why all the negativity and bashing? Old airplanes don’t compromise safety! The company went through a lot and things finally getting better don’t like them don’t fly them as simple as that!
