Huh – I move back to Kuwait in early September and there’s a substantial holiday less than two weeks in? Snap.
I’m going to have a poke at Italy, Iceland or Vietnam. Bracing for KWI Airport frenzy…
Im planning to stay… Hopefully the weather will be good so I can some outdoor activities.
Amsterdam & Munich
Munich is the antithesis of Amsterdam. I don’t even know how old you are but I’ll tell you you’ll be the youngest person in Munich. It’s outrageously expensive and sucks thoroughly.
But have fun in Amsterdam. You won’t find any in Munich.
Say whaaaat? Obviously u went with the wrong people. It’s one of my favorite 3 spots in the world, been there 3 times and loved it every time.
Maybe because you’re an old old man.
ouch
but on a serious note Munich is for people who love beer, food and cars. You clearly like neither of those.
Munich is pretty nice but honestly if you really love beer, Belgium or Czech Republic are the places to go.
Nothing beats sitting on a bench in a garden drinking beer and eating pork knuckles with potato salad
what? German food? you must be the only person around who has something good to say about German food (including Germans themselves)!! There are jokes galore about how sad German food is
yum
I’ve been 3 times in Amsterdam before and i love it but never been to Munich although I’ve been to Germany before. Oktoberfest is the reason i’m passing by Munich where I’m expecting friends meeting us coming from Germany and Austria. I’m 33 but I know how to have fun lol
Thanks for your wishes.
how reliable is this?
Are you doubting mark? 0_0
Probably not 100% as the link in the post doesn’t state any original info, if they put any official gov links then it can be 100% accurate.
I hope they make it six days ::P MORE DAYS TO SLEEP
What types of businesses close during the eid break? I assume grocery stores and malls will be open?
Yup they should be open
I bet they didn’t take the “longer than needed public holidays” factor into that Expat Satisfaction Survey…
I miss that the most about Kuwait!
Agreed !
Actually, there was no such announcement.
It’s in kuwait times as well
I traced this to some a single twitter post which got picked up by unreliable news sources. I have not seen this in any of the Arabic newspapers.
The Eid AlAdha holiday is decided when the new moon of the month of Thul Hijja is spotted in Saudi Arabia. That’s 19-20 days away.
The Civil Service Commission will then decide on the holiday for ministries.
Additionally, the Central Bank will decide on the bank holiday, which is followed by all the banks, and is usually shorter than the ministries holiday.
This is the article I’m talking about

That’s exactly a translation of the tweet that has been going around.
heading off to uni
gonna spend it alone ._.
Prepare for an epidemic of a disease of massive proportions to break out on the 2 working days of that week (Sunday 20th and Monday 21st) which forces the seriously ill Government employees to apply for ‘Sick Leave’.
I will be visiting lands unknown – will travel to Fintas and Jahra.
Anyone aware of the visa requirements?
Any way to confirm if this is legitimate? I really want to book my flights for the 6 days before they get (even more) expensive. But if the break is only 4 days my boss probably won’t be impressed with me taking an extra 2 days off…
Well I booked my tickets based on this ifo
You need to have resided in savage places before to be considered for visa on arrival in Jahra and Fintas.
