Press freedom in Kuwait is at an all time low, and freedom of speech is at a critical level. A small example is that about a week ago The Kuwait Times Newspaper allowed voting on articles, albeit a thumbs up or a thumbs down, it was quickly closed. Oh, you didn’t like our voting? Of course you will see high numbers on voting that is anti-expat legislation and limitations on freedom of speech – you didn’t expect that? Increasingly, residents in Kuwait are trying to have their voices heard in the UAE press, and they are printing them, because residents are refused the right of opinion and freedom of speech in Kuwait. Ironic, when Kuwait calls itself a democracy and openly criticizes the UAE for lack of freedoms which it appears that people travel to the UAE to enjoy, not only because of good government but for the freedoms that they are denied in Kuwait. Democracy in Kuwait is a facade and everyone understands this in the Gulf.
90- Kuwait
120 – United Arab Emirates
But of course it wouldn’t be an ahmed post without some reason to shill the UAE
UAE is more democratic than Kuwait?

You clearly don’t understand the concept of freedom of press if you believe the UAE has more freedom of press than Kuwait.
Well that’s quite good, but yea we can definitely do better.
How come Lebanon is behind Kuwait? That’s really impressive. I never thought there’s any limit on press in Lebanon. I wonder what criteri being used?
after closing alwatan, i doubt we can say that kuwait is moving up in press freedom. If anything, it would make our numbers take sharp spike down.
what made it drop after 2009?
